I'm curious Todd, if you don't mind telling, how much was the shift knob from Algar? Mine is getting a little tired.

Thanks Jack...I now have the tire valve caps.
Thanks Barry...s/w Lee at Algar and now I have new factory shift knob...although I must say the titanium shift knob and pedals I received from www.titaniumcavallino.com/ferrari/index.html are AWESOME...just the excitement my interior needed along with fresh mats.

Cheers!

Anders, do you have more info about your muffler?
When and where can I listen to it?

"Sportbilens dag" at Sviesta maybe?

Ciao

Thank you, Todd. I'm looking forward to seeing yours posted.

Here in New Jersey, a good source for Ferrari parts, like your shift knob, would be Algar Ferrari in Philadelphia. Speak to Lee Romani.

As for the keychain, there used to be a variety of "high end" keychains available from various jewelers. Ferrari has recently enforced their copyright on their logos and so we're left with Official Ferrari merchandise. I've alway felt that the plain Ferrari emblem keyring was always most elegant in its understatement.

Thanks everyone. It makes buying much easier as far as searching and b/c it is not some guy at a company blowing smoke in your ear on a phone call trying to get you to buy his stuff only.
Great pics of the cars too.

Todd, Congratulations! I've had my 328 for about 2 months and love it. Check out Griot's garage. I think it's just www.griotsgarage.com. They have a set of Ferrari air valve covers along with a key chain that's kind of cool. Have fun.

You may try a Ferrari dealer for a leather key fob.

I bought the "official" tan leather enamel key fob from Ferrari of Houston for around $50. These other places seem high.

Todd...

Forgot to mention -- if you're looking for a "high end" key chain for the F-car, there are a couple of popular ones. For example, at the following link...

http://www.italiancarparts.com/accessories/ferrari_accessories.html

...you'll notice a couple:

Official Leather Key Fob
Featuring Ferrari Enamel Badge Logo. Key Fob Leather.
#KF2

- and -

Ferrari Leather Key Fob
Features Ferrari Badge Logo, Enamel.
#FR7912

I purchased the latter one. I've also seen them advertised at speedgear, exoticar, etc. at different prices. ( bought mine at www.exoticar.com )

Good luck!

Hello Todd,

I purchased an "enclosed" type license plate frame identical to the one found at this link:

http://www.autosportcatalog.com/_store/index.cfm?fuseaction=product_detail&product_id=882&CFID=424517&CFTOKEN=35043001

Sorry, I don't have my receipts with me here at the office, so I can't remember exactly where I purchased the frame, but it is identical to the one above -- I chose the silver / chrome frame.
Here's a pic of how it looks on the 308...

308 plate frame

It is a super nice frame for sure! Hope this helps...

Hi Russ, All the best with your ride!
Thanks for the input...actually, as we speak, I am having an Eclipse CD/stereo system put in to replace the Alpine Cassette stereo...I have heard the stereo will be a waste because you won't want to listen to anything but the engine....but for me, being a music enthusiast, it was almost automatic...

Does anyone recommend a high end key chain and rear license plate frame?

Hi Todd. bought my 1988 328 in late March and I too love it. A mistake I made however was buying an upgraded stereo/cd against the advice of some who said the sound of the engine was the only thing they liked to listen to. They were right.

Todd, welcome to 328 ownership! Get pics of your car posted to your profile so we can all get a good look at it, and get your serial number to BobD, he's the keeper of the 328's. Be careful asking about floor mats around here. The best source for reasonably priced aftermarket mats has recently dried up and we love to debate the merits of $600 mats.

Hi Bruce: TWO LONG DAYS before I leave for Maine.

Doesn't look like the w/e weather will cooperate, but so what, I'm gone. I'll be connected to the office so I'll check in once and awhile.

Good morning Bruce and all f-chats out there.

good luck Todd, great car, as Bruce said, you can take my word for it. It's one of the most reconizable Ferraris ever built (thanks to Magnum PI.

With all the locals, a BBQ might be a major event. Look forward to it.

Actually scanning the board is a good start to the day.

Hi Todd,

Congratulations! My one year anniversary just passed, and I still love my 328 GTB. I get a rush just sitting behind the wheel. This site was very helpful when I was in the market, and still is. Good luck. I live in North Jersey. You can reach me at 201-692-0379.

Hi Rob,
These K&N filters, which ones do you mean (airfilter, or fuel or...)? and where do you buy them ?
I had a new muffler made: 1/3 of the weight of the original "led" item. The car feels more rapid now, but it could be a vision only because of the noise...
Good luck with the 328 Todd.

Welcome Todd, it was good talking to you on the phone tonight. Welcome to the site. You should get some good responses within a day or two.

The K&N made a 12 hp increase over the stock filter when we had our dyno day here last month. Not much that will beat that for the dollar. Good tires are key too.

Hello All! I am very excited about my recent purchase of a 1986 328 GTS. A special thanks goes out to Rob Lay for taking his time in getting me started with this site. I am genuinely enthusiastic about learning more about these machines from the Ferrari community as well as receiving your words of wisdom.
A couple of questions I have that I hope can be answered are:
1. My black shifter knob has a crack in it and I want to replace. Who would have this in stock and I once saw a polished aluminum knob that I thought looked pretty sharp, yet I do not know who sells things like this.
2. I was wondering what mechanical enhancements would help get more horse power without going crazy. I heard K&N filters are a good start, any other suggestions?
3. Does anyone offer a full color catalog for parts and/or accessories? Initially there several little things I would like to get like some console knobs, floor mats, key chain, etc.

Thanks a million! Feel free to call me at 973.884.9161

Kind regards,

Todd
