I am a member of a couple of national car clubs.
I just received a memo from the insurance committee of one of these clubs, the following is an overview of that memo:
There are only 3 providers of car club and racing event insurance in the US. One of them was recently downgraded and tracks are no longer accepting there coverage.
The other 2 have raised rates by more than 100% since 9/11.
This will affect Porsche Clubs as well as Ferrari Clubs, Viper Clubs and virtually every car club in the US.
I just thought everybody might want to know.
Dues for most clubs will be going up, and track Insurance will double for most clubs, so expect to pay a little more the next time you sign up for a track day and when you renew your club dues. Chris |
