Got the game today. The F-50 is great! I let the other guys go for the first two turns to avoid the traffic jam and have all five of them beat by turn four. The F-50 just kicks ass.

I don't know why but the 360 seemed too twitchy.

The 355 spyder was a blast.

Enjoy!

PS: Isn't the F-50 simulation great!

Arnaud where did you find that gem???

You just saved me 8 hours of driving around in a bunch of silly cars with wishy suspensions.

THANKS MAN!

Cheats. I don't know any of them personally, but my friend that has it used them to avoid that problem. You can often look them up online, or in a video game magazine.

I'm thinking about getting Project Gotham Racing this weekend. What's the fastest way to get into the Ferrari's ?

I hate games that make you waste time in a VW Bug.

Yes, the game's handling is interesting. If I turn off the traction control in my car, the tail will step out if I force it. What the game cannot convey is the dead solid, on-rails feel of the 360 Modena at speed. But what I really like about it is the ability to bang up my car and drive like a crazy guy in realistic streets. :-)

I have never driven a 360 or even sat in one but it is fun to drive. The one in the game spins out easily and i would imagine the real one has wonderful handling. I do like your black one that is the color i want.

Funny, Project Gotham Racing's 360 doesn't "drive" like the one in the garage. :-) I wish I could have the tach pegged at 8500 all the time without consequences in real life! HA! One problem though. I couldn't select black as my car color in the game.

Well, all the parts finally arrived-dreamcast console, F355 Challenge and Wheel(w/shiter). And, well...its okay. As you probably know there is only one viewpoint, in car, which I have never really liked. My philosophy is that if it's an in car view you could be driving a Yugo with a nice dash. Maybe its juvenile, but to me its more fun to see the car I'm driving. Thought it might be different since it was Fcar based and I liked the arcade version, but no.

It's a shame too because the physics, graphics and sound are awesome. The physics are the best i've ever seen (never played GT3, though).

I used to have the original Playstation and I actually liked NFS 3. It wasn't that realistic, but it was better than arcade-type racers and there were some really good cars.

I saw they are coming out with a Lotus Challenge type game for the PS2 where you drive nothing but Lotus(what's the plural on that-Lotui!?) Let's hope Ferrari Challenge is next.

I was hesitatnt on the Dreamcast f355 because I once played the arcade version to the point of boredom. That being said, today I saw a dreamcast being auctioned on ebay, kinda cheap; and a F355 challenge being auctioned on ebay, kinda cheap; and a mad katz wheel being auctioned on ebay, kinda cheap. Figured it was fate that they were all available-so I got them. About $115 total, but that's with shipping:-)

Need for Speed did always suck, but the new porsche unleashed did sort of redeem the name. It still isnt that real though, but its an improvement.

Sega Japan did F355. Bizarre Creations out of England did Project Gotham. Two different development houses, two different driving models. And even though the Dreamcast is a dead system, spending $100 on a DC, copy of game, and steering wheel will be the best $100 you've spent. I've logged thousands of miles on that game. The game actually motivated me to buy a Ferrari.

Need for Speed always sucked to put it simply. I have NFS 3 on Playstation One and it's totally unrealistic. I would suggest not wasting the money. Project Gotham is pretty cool though.

Thanks,

I've played 355 challenge in the arcade, problem is that Dreamcast is a dead system. I did find out that need for speed 2: hot pursuit is coming out for Playstation 2 and will at least include the F-50, also saw a Porsche GT V-10.

Dreamcast had F355 challenge and now 360 challenge. Marvellous graphics and sound!
Try Altavista or something else you can find enough info about them (screenshots , videos...)

over the years, the car makers have gotten more savvy about their marquee value in video games. i don't know what studios/publishers own what, but you rarely see a game these days with all the cool stuff in it. as a fan of these games, i personally find that annoying, but they still manage to take my money from me.

doody.

Does anyone know if Ferrari has an exclusive software license for its cars? Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2 has 140 cars, including alfa, lancia and fiat, but no Ferraris. I heard the same group that developed the Ferrari 355 Challenge for the Dreamcast worked/made Project Gotham racing, maybe that explains it.
