Barry, Thanks for answering Tim, I was on vacation and just returned.
NJ allows 7 letters, so we condensed: HIGH HORSE to HIGHORS.
This was in consideration from the phrase:
GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE??
oh well can't blame my wife, I'm the one that thought of it.

Regards, John

Not sure if this has been said but who cares if someone on the internet can find your address. IF they what to steal your car they drive through the nice neighborhoods and spot the fancy cars, it not like people drive out of the bat cave. Better yet, sit outside the f-car dealership and follow the cars. The internet does not make it easier.

Why would use your home address on your car registration or for that matter your driver's license? Mine show my P.O.Box . California is changing the law asking for a street address so I will use the address to one of my holding companies. Problem solved.

Oh I guess I must be wrong because my post clearly implied that no Ferrari or any car like it has ever been stolen but now that I am informed that one has been stolen I guess I know know the FACTS.

Then how come there was a Ferrari 355 spyder for sale on e-bay last week that was a theft recovery; missing tires, wheels, front cap, dash, etc. Item 1833587692 . Take a look. Looks like SOMEBODY needed some parts. Must be a market for those parts SOMEWHERE. Glad that wasn't my car. If it was, would I feel better knowing that MOST of the cars stolen are mass produced?

A car thief will look for the most mass produced car as there is the most demand for those parts because of so many being on the road.

Craig, I am not really worrying about my Corvettes or other stuff, but I know of 3 different Cadillacs stolen from 2 of my friends. Of course no need to really worry. Enron is a sound company and the Soviet Union will never fall, right?

Unless you have an F 50 or an original Cobra or something, I doubt a thief would fly across the country to steal your car. I would, however, have some kind of alarm system for my house and garage for the local ones.

I do and I get an insurence break as well as a little peace of mind.

The theory is this: No thief is going to break into your home looking for a Van Gogh painting at random. But if they can find out the address of somebody that has one, they could go for it. Same thing with cars. Not every thief will see your car driving down the road and turn around to follow you home. But if they could find out a few plate numbers of some choice exotic cars and slip a few hundred dollars to some insider in the DMV, BINGO! They've got your location. Stake out the place, wait patiently, then by by Ferrari!
Alot of those exotic cars are stolen to order for big money guys overseas. Didn't you see "Gone in 60 Seconds" with Nicolas Cage! I saw a news story a few years back showing dozens of high dollar stolen vehicles in Mexico and Columbia that came from the U.S. Lots of 4WD trucks too.
The U.S. customs service busted a theft ring a few years ago that were using giant cargo containers to ship the cars out of the country. It was a full blown operation. What did you say the license plate number to your Ferrari was?????

Then that theory should mean they can do it if you are driving down the street. Why keep a plate on at all? What's the difference? A personalized plate is easy to remember for the very reason that it is personalized. Like I said, there are easier ways of stealing cars than going through all that trouble, if they want to steal it they will.

Horsefly is correct. Actually, however, I would like them to try. Heh heh heh. So would my dogs. Heh heh heh. And my wife. And her Glock. Heh heh heh. And my H&K's. Heh heh heh. And all my friends at the Sheriff's Dept.

I invite any prospective thieves of my cars to come over and experience Darwinism first-hand.

Not really. Before Congress passed the driver's security act back in 1997 (?), I use to go down to the local DMV and research any old Corvette that I saw driving down the road. All you had to do was give them a license plate number and $1 and you got the owners name and address. It was all public record. I did that for years and tracked the history and location of many cars. It led to the purchase of my '66 Vette convertible at a bargain price. Nowadays, license plate records are not quite public record. You have to be a law enforcement officer, or licensed private detective, etc, in order to get the info. My best detective work was tracking down the owner of an original '57 fuel injected Corvette that a friend of mine had seen back in 1968. All I had to go on was his last name and a town. So it's not THAT hard to do. If it was MY Ferrari, I certainly wouldn't want anyone plastering my license plate across the internet.

I dont see how posting a plate number would help someone steal a car unless they have some kind of DMV acess or are a cop.

If some creative car thieves can track down some of these boldly posted plate numbers, your next plate might read "F-CAR GONE".
