I have a 365GT 2+2. I've had it for about eight years, and I'm really happy with it.

Maintenance has been very reasonable on it, but I do try to drive it a fair bit (at least 1,000 miles per year, and once a month). Parts availability can be a bit of a problem-- right now, it's sitting in the shop while we try to find a passenger door handle, but hey, it's winter and I wasn't planning on driving it much anyway.

If you are curious about maintenance issues, take a look at www.tomyang.com. He has a message board with lots of info on the V12 cars.

I have a good friend that owns a 365 GT 2+2, and I absolutely love the car. Keep in mind I am also one of the few that loves the 4 headlight 330. I will some day own a 1964 330 GT 2+2 or a 1965 330 GT 2+2 Interem. The old V-12s make such a beautiful sound. As for parts, mechanical parts are relatively easy to locate it is the cosmetic trim pieces that are extremely hard to come by. Be sure if you get a good driver that it is a complete car. otherwise you will be looking for that elusive trim piece. I have helped the friend with the 365 with many tune-ups and mechanical mini-restoration projects and it is very easy to work on. with exeption of removing the airconditioner. You have many mechanical updates on the 365 compaired to the 330, some of which just make life a little more difficult, like power windows. I am not sure how they compare performance wise they should be close to equal if you are comparing a 5-speed example. The 330 is a little lighter and has a little less HP. The 365 has powersteering and self leveling suspention. They both have a beautiful interior and both have a beautiful shape, although I think the 365 is about a half-foot too long. If you are really interested I have many links on the 330 with good information. I would talk to owners of both and then if you could drive one of both before making a decision.

I had a 1967 330GTC and she was a great car. She performed well for a car of that era and made all the right V12 multi carb sounds. I didn't find her that expensive to maintain either. In fact, a valve adjustment was cheaper to have done than one on my 328, TR or 348. And with cam chains instead of belts, there was no replacement costs there either. Specific Ferrari drivetrain parts can be hard to find, but most other parts were outsourced by Ferrari at that time anyway and can be bought directly from the manufacturer of the particular part. I still miss her. She was a wonderful driving lady. I think I'm gonna cry !

Until recently, the price of a pininfarina 250 coupe was still low, and would have been the better investment than either of the cars you mention. the 365 will, i believe, seem more modern, but what a barge! Quad headlite 330's may be making a comeback in some circles, but they are still a car only some will love. I like the interior of the 330 and the car is probably a big improvement over the 250 gte, but boy, love the metal dash and chrome bezels on the 250. See the most recent Cavallino. For not much more, you could probably land a gtc/4, which is probably a better car than all of them, but it will not have that old world appearance; instead, you will want to dust off your 8-track tape collection. As pointed out, all of these cars will be lots of fun (read:money) to maintain. On parts, i have no clue, which would be a big question in my mind. For the same money, i think i'd rather have a restored, and slightly modernized 3.8 e-type, but that is sacrilege on this forum.

Older cars are timeless; I love them! I'd take the best example you can find of either; the old 12's are mucho expensive for rebuilds so get a good one!
