Chris,

Looks like their is a good chance the 355 Challenge car will be ready to go by the 22nd of March Friday at the Track. It is currently at Algar Ferrari having some major exhuast and suspension work being completed and I am going to try and make it up there (Philly) the week of the 17th and trailer the car back home.

Chris,

You can run your Spyder at Ferrari of Washington's bi-annual track day on April 22nd and 23rd. The two day track event is open to anyone interested. You do not need to be a Ferrari Club member or a Ferrari of Washington customer or even own a Ferrari. They allow convertibles to run without roll bars in their touring group (three run groups). The only difference between the touring group and the other two is the level of saftey equipment and the speeds. Passing rules are almost the same in all three groups (except Red group doesn't require point by's and sometimes we fudge or cheat the rules a bit like passing in the brake zones). Though some of us seem to have momentary lapses of judgement in the Red group.

I think you only need a helmet in the touring group (Red and Blue require nomex and fire bottles).

It is a lot of fun. There are usually quite a few convertibles in the touring group. Go to FOW's website and you will find a sign up form with more information.

Regards,

Jon

Oh no. I love my Spider. The M3 is my daily driver. It's 100% stock. Those extra 2 seats and a usable trunk come in handy. They won't let me track the 348 without a roll bar and I don't want to put one on. The M3 is awfully fast and a lot of fun to track but the 348 is more of a race car. The 348 is much more fun to drive at the limits. The M3 understeers like a bi+ch. (Or maybe I'm just spoiled from driving a mid engined car!) I'd really like to see your challenge car. Hopefully I'll get to see it on the 22nd!

Hi Chris,

Awesome! Great license plate. Uh! wait a minute if you pass me on the straight does that mean you will change your license plate to "1FASTER M3"?

Hope you didn't sell the 348 Spyder, though the new M3 is definetly a worthy competitor. Look forward to seeing the Bavarian Beast at Summit.

Regards,

Jon

That's funny! You will see my 2001 M3 with the similar license plate "FAST M3." It's carbon black, #348.
I'll definitely say hello! I'll see you there!

Hi Chris,

The Ferrari won't be ready by then but the BMW M5 track car will be there on the 1st. The F355 may be ready in time for the 22nd not sure yet. Stop by and say hello on the first. My M5 is #44 and has VA tags "1FASTM5" on it.
