perhaps use a netscape browser (if you dont use netscape) and turn off image downloading. =D then you can use IE for normal everyday stuff and the netscape for ferrarichat. |

Jim If you have a Unix/Linux box handy can easily use Lynx which is a text-based browser which I use when I want to skip all the fancy images and just need the text. Actually there's a DOS-Lynx which would work on a PC and produce the effect you are looking for check it at http://www.fdisk.com/doslynx/lynxport.htm Cheers

Ummm, get back to work Jim! For long messages, I sometimes copy and paste into Open Mail or Notepad to make it look like I'm typing something important. You can resize your window so just a little sliver is showing and then scroll through the messages. You have to learn the art of having the pointer over another application in your tool bar so the slightest sound you can click it. Warning, only do this if you have enough warning. It's worse to get caught in the middle scrambling. My team is only about 7 people, but I'll walk down the aisle and 5 of the 7 will be right in the middle of clicking off. That's so unusual that 5 of 7 people are switching applications at the same time. ;) |

I have a new office and am now situated so my computer screen faces the door. This limits my ability to use my favorite website because I'm always afraid the "Ferrarichat.com" banner will be at the top of my screen in big letters whenever someone walks in. With my luck, the one time I get caught, it will be by the CEO. Hey Rob, any ideas? |
