It's actually pretty easy. I felt kind of at sea my first time, too. The biggest problem I had was double posting the pictures. Let me know if you need help. |

Jack, I would like to post some pics of my 308 and the engine build I did. I have them in jpeg form on my computer and yesterday I read up on how to post them. Because Im a dolt when it comes to computers, I still cant post them. A step by step instruction on how to post pics will get them on the board tonight. |

Ahhhhhhhh the classic baiting of the P-Car guy! True the very early 356's shared some VW parts but since the mid 60's there has been no sharing of parts. Of coarse a VW was an air-cooled horizontally opposed engine and so was a Porsche. You could also do the same association with a Ferrari engine and a Ford, both are V engines and water cooled... In 1986 the Porsche factory team doing the Paris to Dakar rally used some Vanagons as support vehicles. In order to keep up with the race, they installed 911 Turbo engines and transmissions... Now THAT would be my kind of minivan!

Terry does have a point about design but a porche is just a vw made by the same people that built the Thing and a wagovan or is it a vanagon? |

Yea, I guess Ferrari's undebateable poor design could be under the heading " What a Shame". |

LOL! I work on my own cars (another sure way to find God). The difference in overall engineering excellence between a Porsche 911 and a Ferrari 308 is night and day. The Porsche is so incredibly well thought out, the entire package makes total sense and is very easy to fix and its massivly overengineered. The Ferrari is basically a really gorgeous body with a very neat engine thrown onto an antique style chassis with zero thought to maintenance or packaging at all. When looking at how the Ferrari is put together you get the impression of: Guido talking to Salvatore: "eh? water pump? Weee neeed a steenking water pump? Jez puta dat onnna there and shuppup will ya?". Nothing exactly brilliant about Ferrari construction or engineering. However, the Ferrari is just so incredibly good looking and makes such wonderful noises.... the only real solution is to own one of both! I have my 308 as a gorgeous street toy to drive and enjoy for its looks and sounds. I have a 911 that is basically a weapon for track and autocross. One looks great, the other goes like stink (or will be when back together). All the bases are covered Martin, if you dont have a 911 do yourself a favor and get one. They are tons of fun to hotrod. |

Terry: Love Porsches? Are you sure that your first name is spelt with a T rather than a J, as in Jerry. |

Well, I dont think the Godless nutcases out there represent any problem <g> Really, I think the spirited debate is interesting and everyones opinions have seemed welcome. There may be a little heat between some folks, but hey thats just life on the internet. As for me, I meant nothing but respect towards everyone else and have received nothing but the same in response. Ferrarichat.com is one of the most broad of topic and mature sites I have ever participated in and there is indeed a bond here. All this despite my first love still being Porsche! |

Paul, as I am usually the one steering up controversy, I must say that you are wrong here. You will find that as much as I disagree with Richalson, Frank and Scott on some of the R-Issues, in the next topic we have a meaningful conversation about Ferrari. There are no hard feelings or other name calling. I do respect these guys as much as those that are with me on these issues. There is a common bond here and that, as far as I am concerned, goes past religious believes. Don't feel bad. This is just one topic of so many.

I dont mind a heated debate either and everyone has their opinions but every other post someone is an a hole and its a waste of time. Its not a heated debate, its a fight. Some people enjoy watching others fight, like yourself, I dont. |

well - I respect everyones opinion - but when it boils own to what is right and wrong - the woman always knows (wink) Seriously - in spirited debates, as long as it's keep within the boundaries of good taste and not childish name calling - it's a part of forums. And since I haven't a strong opinion on the matter or I just don't believe I'd add anything to the chat I just read on or ignore. So my advice is not to pay attention to the threads you don't care for and take part in the ones you do. and before I forget - thank you to everyone for making me feel comfortable as a Ferrari-loving/Ferrari-owning person....even though I lack male genitalia. |

I dont know about you but i think people here are mature adults and even though they have differing opinions, still have respect for one another. If everyone had the same opinion this board would be boring. Frankly, i enjoy these spirited debates. |

I saw the post with the white 328 when there was only the pictures and I also saw the fish and felt it was out of place, not because of what it means just the colour and size I guess. No big deal. When I saw there were over 200 posts, I thought everyone was posting pics of there pride and joy and thought this would be a great time to post some pics of my 308 for the first time. Holy f u c k was I wrong! What a waste of time and energy that was. Im beginning to see some of the people here differently now. Getting to see what some of the people are really like and I have to say Im dissapointed. Or maybe Im seeing the bad side and getting the wrong impressions but either way, its a shame that we cant get along. Whats next, steering someone down the wrong path on a repair question because you dont like him or her? I can see it happening in the future. I hope things turn around soon because Im loosing interest fast. |
