Tim my man, if you feel the need to support some arsehole who comes out with the line to start a thread "feraris suck" then it is you who has a problem.

How simplistic can I put it for you? If you dont like my contributions then dont f**king read them. I guess you must be the type who watches stuff on TV you are offended by and dont have the savvy to switch over or off. Get a life and get off my case.

Why did anyone even respond to this ad? I am doing so in hopes that the previous 61 respondents would quit. (I am number 62) He may have touched off your ego, but, just leave it alone. My 88TR is valued to me just as much before, as after, I have read his thread. I can't believe that 61 People responded!!!!!!!!! By not responding, you will preserve the FerrariChat to it's true intention, and not let some jerk cause the DEATH of it. In the future, it is baest to just ignore these, and they WILL go away.

Have you ever wondered why we say something "sucks" when we mean it as something bad rather than something good ?

There was a great football coach that was notoriously hard (i.e. mean) to his players. After winning a national championship a reporter ask him why he was so mean to his team and he responded with something to the effect of "if they didn't rally together to hate me, they would have not rallied together at all". If you notice this thread is mostly filled with people telling us of their love of Ferraris! I'm a little disappointed some people made it personal on me, but I'm big enough to handle that. I would say this thread was a resounding success in bringing back the reason we are here, we Love Ferrari's!

Oh and for the record, I know I'm an A$$h0|e, I have been saying that for a long time. I also wish I could live in my parents basement again; oh the lack of responsibility would be welcomed some times.

I thought I had posted enough here for most everyone to know I was joking, and I think it started out that way, and ended that way.

be careful on who you pass judgement on. I hope you use more caution in dealing with people in real life then you use on this message board.

Not to add any fuel to the fire, but what exactly goes wrong with a Lotus? I have owned 3 throughout that past 7 years and not a single thing ever went wrong. No parrts fell off, no motors fell down, zip nothing. So you don't think I am bashing Ferrari, I love them as well, that is why I have two of them. Have you had personal problems with Lotus that you would like to share?

I dont quite understand why people like Harlan post these threads. If he doesnt like Ferraris well it is his own opinion (IMO he doesnt have a clue about cars then but who cares?).But is it necessary to bother us with this? Why doesnt he posts his stupid crap on some Supra pages (If there are some...)?
Anyway I hope we end this discussion here fast before it gets out of bounds like this "Just got a camera, here is my car" thread which soon became boring too...

Here's where you're wrong:

Jags aren't beautiful. At least not the mass-marketed Ford models. The cars look like 50's British taxis.

Porsche builds some very mediocre cars, speed and quality-wise. Their 4WD is a pig. The Boxster is barely as fast as a 328, yet with all of today's modern technology.

Lotus is hard to argue, but its performance and maintenance difference from a Ferrari is nothing to shout about.

Finally, Ferrari is the only auto manufacturer whose F1 technology feeds so directly and massively into its road cars. It is after features appear in their cars, and prove their worthiness, that they begin to show up in other brands.

Funny joke, though.

For me it's all about the way I feel when I'm driving it. There are a lot of really nice cars out there, Ive had half a dozen different sports cars. My 308 is my first Ferrari and the most wonderfully unrefined car Ive ever drive. I wouldnt trade it for the world.

Tim summed it up pretty well James GNX go for usually over 25k if I remember right they were good for low 12s'more power than regular GN.I remember back to my `fast and furios' days the mustang gt was king until the buick gn came along and the gnx was that unobtainable supercar!

He is expecting some quick 1/4 mile times with this car, so it should be fun.

hmmmm,
I am not sure what he has. It's the black, t-top turbo charged Buick Grand National.

I am pretty sure it has an intercooler.

What are the differences between the GN and the GNX??

I want a GNX so bad, but i will probably have to settle for a GN. They made about as many GNX's as 550 barchettas. I figure once i dump 3 grand into the motor and suspension i will be in the mid 11's. The only problem is I WONT BE ABLE TO TURN. So i might just wait longer and go with the lotus S4s.

Tim,

I agree, and, for all you Supra haters out there, they also hold their re-sale value. I sold mine last month, and made approximatly $5500 CAD profit on the car after driving it for 3 years.

A big thanks to the producer of "The Fast and the Furious" for making all the ricer kids want to pay inflated prices for a Supra, and then paint it orange and put silly decals on the side. Oh, don't forget the NOS.

Harlan, you're right! Got sucked in my Ferrari just last night.

FYI--Porsche, while making a fast turbo, also make a horribly expensive, slow all-wheel drive Carrera. Also, their cars have been "yuppy-ized". Don't dare take a factory Porsche on the track--it'll blow. Literally.

The Lotus is nice if you're Buck Rogers. Put it next to a Ferrari, whose performance difference is negligable, and see which car people react to.

Jaguar?! Don't get me going on Jaguar. Beautiful? Smoke some more dope. In their attempt to recapture nostalgia, they've produced the most obviously pathetic attempt at retro-design ever. Andy by the way, it's Ford.

Ferrari provides more F1 technology in their street cars than every other marque combined. Every successful development finds its way into their street cars. Not one of the brands you mentioned can claim any current F1, or even racing, trickle down whatsoever.

Sorry you don't like Ferrari, but don't fabricate the truth to feel better.

Bob- That's a no go on the wax. Ferrari wax included a special "suck" factor, a dealer installed option at $40/oz. Sorry. Floor mats as well, the Italian rayon carpet/cloth is incompatible with any other fiber. As it is specially "brushed" by some guy named Luigi in a clockwise motion, making it obsolete in c. clockwise equipped carpeted vehicles.

Yep, it was really a toss-up. I thought about an audi TT, but it was just too serious; the jag, well, too rare and those handmade dashboard parts just looked too expensive; Lotus, well, i was looking for something that had an even smaller dealer network than Lamborghini. Oh, i'm sorry, you meant the Porsche twin turbo, yeah well, i gave the guy that cleans my pool and handles the gardening and shopping for us one, but his wife told me the tiptronic is totally lame.

I just wanted to let you all know that Ferrari's Suck. Why would you possibly like a car that is underpowered, overpriced, unreliable, ugly, oversized and generaly just eat away slowly (quickly at purchase) at your money? If you want fast buy a Porsche 911TT (or supra), if you want beautiful and fast buy a Lotus Esprit, if you want beautiful buy a Jag. Or you can just get one of each and save yourself a few dollars over the overpriced F1 champ cars, its not like you get F1 technology in your car.

*setting back and waiting for the family to ralley together again, enough with the fighting*
