I will also talk to Nick Soprano about sending out some heavy duty machinery for display (NART Spyder, Tour De France, 212, 166 Inter, 275/4 etc.). Would be good exposure for his sales promotion.

Would be really unbelievable if we could couple this with a track event.

William-

I'm in, but I'm not taking a bus. Save me a spot at the mansion and I'll help organize this with you. I'll bring the Dino and whatever else I buy between now & then.

I have a cousin who wrote and directed Family Ties and a bunch of movies, and is friendly with Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin, Michael J. Fox, etc. I'll see what he can do.

If we could set this up as a charitable event (childrens' hospital, cancer research, etc.) we could not only get more celebrities, but get more sponsors. My company would go in for a few grand on a charitable thing.

I'll even spring for a few bunnies on my own.

I am up for this and possibly other NW Listers, some of us are talking about coming down for the FCALA in May. But I am sure in L.A. you should have no shortage of Ferraris.

Now...once you got the basics pinned down, work on getting some bunnies to attend this. How about if they would detail our cars then we will detail them?

Just thinking ahead... :-)

Rob , yes thats a great idea, doing a website. I contacted FCA SER & they just dont have time so this will be the 1st annual Ferrari.Chat-Playboy party :-) Nice ring to it :-) I want to find an anchor sponsor to help out with the $30k rental so we'll have to add their name to the title also since they will put up the $.
I have contacted Cavallino, FNA, & will soon contact Road & Track & Forza, can any1 think of who else?
I would like to see if I can get Nicholas Cage, Tom Cruise, Jay Leno, David Letterman, & or Tim Allen to show. I have a few contacts & I'll try to talk to Robert Duvall who lives down the block from me in BA. Not sure if he is still in town though. Can any1 help bringing the stars in ? The Stars & whoever wrangles them will be comped of course.
Now how about helping me get some SERIOUS machinery to show up ? I got my 512TR, now I just need another 9- 14 cars to park in front of the Mansion :-)

The wedding will take my time May 31st to June 2nd, but we're thinking about coming early or staying late to hit the big city. I'll let everyone know.

I'll be in KC the last week of this month thru the first week of March if anyone up there wants to get together for a meal.

Add my name to the list. I will take one of those reserved spots :-). Let me know when it is organized and how I can help. I will be in San Diego all summer, in LA for the meet and can come up from San Diego early to help set up anything that we need.

For publicity, I have the contacts with Forza and Cavallino. If you gave each a few tickets to come write a story and take pictures, then that should be enough to make the issue. I think you could also try to write the story yourself, but then there's a chance they won't publish.

I won't be able to go because I'll be at the other coast for a wedding in New Canaan, CT.

Since many folks will likely be coming in from out of town, are there any thoughts on perhaps negotiating a group rate at a hotel in the area ? it may be worth a look once the event is scheduled and you've gotten enough commitments.

I'd like to hear from some1 who is used to organizing events cus this is my first one. Helluva a way to start huh? :-) I have contacted Symbolic, Shelton, Cavallino, & others, hopefully I get get some1 to underwrite the event cus I dont particularly want to put up the $30k in case nobody shows up.
Biggest hurdle right now is getting the word out & reaching people before May so they can send in their $300

When do you think this would happen? $300 and a round trip ticket are quite appealing when it comes to seeing the bunnies.

That is quite an accomplishment. When do you plan on having the event? I agree it will be great publicity. Let me know what you are thinking on dates.

I spoke to a guy at Playboy Enterprises about my idea for an FCA or FerrariChat car show at the Mansion & it seems they will rent out the Mansion & cater the event for us. I need to see how many people r REALLY interested cus its gonna b $300 a head & I'd like to see at least 100 people. He told me we can display between 10-15 cars in front of the mansion. Everybody else will have to park at the UCLA lot & take a shuttle bus over. My 512TR has a reserved space cus I thought of the event :-) OK guys its time to commit to this. u can bring your friends also. How often do u think u will get to go to THE Mansion. Lets DO IT!!!!!

By the way, we can rent a few bunnies too mingle with the guests for the evening but that will b a little extra. If u want more personal attention from a bunny you'll have to negotiate that on your own :-)

Rob this is gonna be a HUGE advertising opportunity for you. This event will probably be all over at least a dozen magazines & maybe a few talk shows :-) Playboy, DuPont, Cavallino, Prancing Horse, Road & Track, Sports Car International, & more
