I was thinking that too. They had two F50s in one trailer in one ad, I just couldn't help but think that a million dollars in one trailer would be pretty tempting to thieves. It would look cool, but like you said would be a little too enticing in many cases. And, I would imagine that it would be well over priced being that it bore the name Ferrari. |

If it was me Bret, I wouldn't buy a trailer with the Cavallino plastered all over it, too inviting for those who would want more than a peek at what you got. |

Yeah that's the article. How come you don't want to just drive it? If you are gonna buy a trailer, there are some pretty sweet ones in the ads in Forza that have Ferrari on the side of them and all, but I bet they cost a pretty penny so it probably wouldn't be worth it. |

I couldn't find anything in the ExpensiveCar.com archives. I did see a 308 being hauled on a U Haul trailer in the Ferrari Festival video. I just bought a race car so I've been in the market for buying a trailer, here's what I've found so far... Trailers keep their value, so you can almost buy a new one for the used price. The prices range... $800-1000 for a 16ft, dual axel, no brakes, but with lights and ramps. $1300-1500 for a 16ft wood dual axel with brakes and dovetail. $1800-2200 for a 16ft metal dual axel with brakes and dovetail. Also, I contacted several transport companies and one quote was $450 to haul a car from Indiana to Dallas. I'm not sure how much a shorter 300 mile trip would be. |

Someone on this site, or maybe it was on expensivecar back in the day, said something about using a Uhaul transporter on a 328 and it actually worked, well nonetheless. Personally, I would have it flatbedded, but that's only because my father has a lot of friends in the towing business. There has to be someone out there that you can rent either a trailer, transporter, or truck from to tow it. Try the local mechanics, they might know. |

I need to transport my beloved 1989 328 GTS about 300 miles...What has anyone, with a similar model, used? I called Uhaul, Penske, etc.. about their car transporters, but all said the car has low clearance to fit. Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful. I was thinking of renting a Uhaul-type transporter, placing planks on the runners...any thoughts? Cheers. SML |
