Hi Mark, Something that works great for removing dirt and such from aluiminum is the new Orange Cleaner From 409,but spray it on a cloth you do not want to get it on any plastic or rubber parts, then use some Mothers Aluiminum Cleaner use it very sparingly, then use a dry cloth for a final wipe down. |

Most any caustic solution will clean aluminum. Aluminum Jelly is a commercial product for cleaning aluminum. Easy Off Oven Cleaner is a caustic solution that will clean aluminum. Also Wesleys Bleech White tire cleaner. These are all caustic chemicals that actually etch the aluminum to a lesser (or greater) extent depending upon concentration. Get a piece of scrap aluminum and practice on it first. I also bought a quart of some aluminum cleaner at K-Mart a few years ago in their paint section. Can't remember the brand name, but it was made for cleaning aluminum screen doors. |

I have been using a stensiling(sp?) brush with mine and it is realllly easy to get into the tight areas with it. |

Mark, Use it sparingly. You will probably be better satisfied if you use a soft bristle paint brush. Use it to apply and also to buff it in to a shine. Great stuff. |

I had never heard of Rub-n-Buff before reading about it on Ferrarichat. I bought some at Hobby Lobby, $3 or so a tube, 1 tube goes a LONG way. I will never mess with scrubbing, polishing, buffing ect ect ever again. Just use a degreaser to make sure the aluminum is clean then apply RnB with your fingertip or a small cloth.... it looks fantastic within seconds with virtually zero effort. Great product. |

Mark, There was a thread awhile back about Rub-N-Buff. http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/2139.html It is a great aluminum cleaner/colorer. You can find it at major craft stores. Ask Magoo, he lives in Fla. too. Joe |
