I was behind Chris on the trip through Malibu Canyon during the FCA ralley. I have that sound burned into my memory. It was a thrill just to be driving behind him. Nick |

Here's a foolproof method...try recording your soundbite on tape then use the sound recorder in Windows to save a wav file. (from the windows start icon, click the run... and type sndrec32{OK}.) You will need some type of lead to connect your player to the microphone input. Good luck... we look forward to your posting. |

Fitting a proper exhaust to your Ferrari increases your enjoyment of the car - NO doubt about it. Even at low rpm when you're not thrashing the car, the engine can be played like a musical instrument and you potter about with a ridiculous grin on your face. But then I WOULD SAY THAT ! Tim - we need to hear this - I know exactly what you mean - the LM Comp exhaust has no baffling at all - just a set of wonderful pipes -if you de-catted it too then you need a shot of the rear of the car on a large lift of the throttle - you may or may not be aware of it but there are probably six foot flames shooting out of the back on every up shift. FANTASTIC!! |

Having heard Parr's F40 and F355 (both with Tubi) at speed, I doubt it can be accurately reproduced no matter how sophisticated the equipment. Probably the best sound on earth, except for F1. |

Tim, I am glad you got a "real" system on your F40! Now your F40 does not sound like an Audi!

Tim - as a suggestion for a sound file. Record one with the F40 sitting at idle and then acclerating away from the camcorder at full throttle (within reason ) to the limiter and into second so we can hear the full range of sounds. Nice one! |

all I can say is WOW. the guys at tsi (Tino) (FC Sponser)and Tubi accidently sent me the wrong exhaust for my F40 a few months ago, but I installed it and used it. when I discovered the problem, they exchanged out the exhaust for the one I wanted. Buy from our (FC) sponsors. anyway, the sound, unbelievable, its like having a whole new car. I put the Tubi LM pipes, and I say pipes because thats all they are, no muffs here. and I replaced the cats with "test" pipes. just straight through pipes. the sound is LOUD and rumbles at idle and screems at increased RPM but with a low resonance that shakes you to the bone when the car drives past you. in the cockpit the sound is simply wonderful, not to loud and no low resonance just a nice high pitch F1 at 8000RPM kinda sound. the drive home I could not wipe the smile from my face. this makes the car so much more fun to drive. incredible what just an exhaust will do for driving enjoyment. If someone can tell me how to record a sound bite I would love to do it and post it on this site for you to hear. say at idle, reving the car, and then a drive by exhaust note, any other ones? how do I record it? Note to Chris - yes my wife still has the same exhaust on her car, I didnt change that one out. do you still have the exhaust from your wifes car on your F40? |
