Hubert, Unfortunately this is the only sports car in the collection. Good thing though...between it, my truck, my wife's car, and my patrol car I have a hard enough time trying to remember simple things like where the windshield wipers are on each vehicle.

Ron, There are only a handful (maybe 20-30) of Ferraris in the Boise area. The dominant sports cars up here are the Vettes, Vipers, and Porsche.

I love the difference in profiles, compared to the pickup behind it! Martin's right--I really like the wheels on it. I was never a fan of the factory 348 wheels, but yours look great! Have fun, Sir.

Yep! That's one stealth 348! (good looking Challenge wheels too). Just be careful not to bend them since those wheels are no longer available.

You are right, 348's are faster than most people think.

Harlan, that doesnt matter, one of the benefits, among other things, is not getting speeding tickets.

Christopher,
Welcome to the 348 club. There are several others on Ferrari chat (including myself) with black 348's. Stealth machines, and underrated with regard to price vs. performance. They would make great police cars, wouldn't they!

Congrats ! Nice. Enjoy and drive safely. I like Black as it doesn't attract attention, but it is a bear to keep clean. I know you're looking forward to many miles of smiles.

Joseph,

My mileage figures are crude at best, however I filled it up in Denver, then topped it off twice on the way back when I reached 1/2 a tank, ending up in Boise with 1/2 a tank. Keep in mind I kept the car at 75mph almost the whole way back to avoid getting a ticket (cops can be sneaky...did I say that out loud?) Funny thing is, the day after I got back and started driving it around in city traffic I went through almost as much gas in a matter of a few hours. Anyway, I love the car. I will keep you guys udated.

I don't think the deal is final yet, but a 88 red/tan was in the works. If it went through he should have it within a few weeks.

I think you have discovered the little secret that other 348 owners have known all along, they are incredible cars that are highly underrated, which is good for us since it keeps the prices down. Enjoy in good health.

I only got 170 miles on my first tank full.

OK, Christopher is the new moderator of FerrariChat.com!

My friend Greg here in Dallas was DPD back in early eighties and his former partner is still in the force. I've been memorizing Ferrari info for 15 years now and his friend puts my knowledge to shame. Greg just bought a 88 TR and he's going to get a set of keys for his friend that has never owned one himself. I guess the least you can do when he saved your ass in a few gun fights.

Beautiful Car. I love black. TomD, have you bought my BBi yet?

Nice 348 Chris! I bet that first road trip in it was a blast! When I bought mine, I flew down
to Denver then over to C-Springs and drove back the next day too. What a way to get to
know your new Ferrari!

I had always wondered if any Law Enforcement people owned Ferraris and I think it is cool
that you have one.

Take care and make sure you keep the speed down, yeah right!!!!!

You have to tell us how this car faces up against those LS1 Police Camaros (don't lie to us, you know you have the race planned out).

Great car!

Well, I flew down to Denver and drove my new car back without incident. Wow...348's are under rated in my opinion. Great looks, excellent handling, plenty fast (trust me), and almost 1000 miles on a little over a tank and a half of gas. I know that Ferrari has several models (old & new) that will put my car to shame, however on a cops salary I am truly pleased with my purchase.
