Not to be a stickler, but F1 accounts for driver weight so it doesn't matter how much he weighs, within reason of course (300lbs might be a little heavy). The cars are light enough that even with the driver's weight they have to ballast to get up to the minimum. It's something like 1360lbs with driver and fluids for min weight.

The next stupid thing that will happen is Ferari will make Michael Schumacher lose more weight for HP. Maybe they will slip some diet pills without him knowing!

I'm sure any thing that would help channel more air into the intake at F1 speeds would give you some power gain.

Didn't they do a test last year where they had the helmet get run over by a full-size German tank and it did nothing to the helmet?

I agree. Seem like a bunch of BS to me. Why doesnt he sleep with his head between a vise to make his head narrower then the helmet would be even MORE aerodynamic. If he was really devoted to the sport he would sacrifice a bit. According to my 3,001 hrs. of calculations, a narrowed noggin is worth 20 HP!!!

Next thing they will try to work with, to gain more horsepower, is to tell the butterfly on the other side of the world to flap its wings harder. This will change the current-area weather system to help with aerodynamic forces...

Give me a break!

Michael Schumacher's new helmet will effectively add ten horsepower to his Ferrari, according to manufacturer Schuberth.
"We've worked on it for at least 3,000 hours in the wind tunnel," research boss Oliver Schimpf was quoted as saying to Germany's Auto Bild newspaper.

The helmet apparently forms a single unit with the Ferrari's neck support, reducing drag to a minimum. It is also narrower than that of Brazilian team mate Rubens Barrichello.

This means that air can flow more effectively into the Ferrari's airbox, through which air flows into the engine and helps it to work efficiently.

A prototype which Schumacher and his brother Ralf had been testing was stolen from the Schuberth factory earlier this month, although it was reportedly returned to a vicar in Italy recently.

The new formula1 season begins March 3rd at the Australian Grand Prix, and it is expected that the German brothers will display their new protective gear then. Nick Heidfeld is another high-profile customer for Schuberth.
