Well I finally got my 328 gts. I managed to convince the previous owner to let me take the car first and pay him monthly interest free. Just finished paying 2 months ago.Now if you guys could only see the big grin on my face but I am sure you all understand the feeling !!!

I turned 28 this past August and went out and bought myself a 90 348. I've always wanted to own a ferrari, as long as I can remember and my dream finally came through this past summer. My wife and I are computer consultants. We've been working very hard since our early 20's and were lucky enough to save save save during the past 6 - 7 years. Definitely the best purchase I've ever made.

I too sold stocks in March to buy my 1991 348. I am 48 years old and always wanted to own a Ferrari. Now I am glad I sold the stocks when I did. The car is a total dream come true.

Selling stocks 3 months ago to help buy this Ferrari may be my best investment ever. For my current stocks... may they rest in peace.

Part of the reason I got the 308 is because like you said, investment wise not many other cars hold their value like it. I to am young (17, almost 18), I look at the Ferrari as a great opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest cars ever and to experience having a car that you really become one with. No matter how much I work on my Jeep, I never get the same bond as I do with the Ferrari. There's something special that you can share with a car when you know that under a certain panel on the frame there's dried blood from all those times that you hit your knuckles. Calling them great cars is really an understatement.

I'll tell you one thing, my 348 is the best investment I own this year. Thank goodness the plates dont say NASDAQ, like everything eles I own.

I think people may have some money they want to put somewhere safe and FUN. My car is nearlyh worth today, what it was when I bought it, granted I rarely drive it, I still enjoy it everyday.

Well I hate to throw the monkey wrench into the reasoning but I'm 50 yrs old & just bought my 328GTS about two months ago. I've always owned sportscars -- Lotus, Porsche, Alfa.... I'm a small business owner (ex-engineer) and also don't mind making sacrifices for my Ferrari! I look at the activity to buy as either people getting ready for next summer (it took me six months to find mine) or bargain hunters looking to buy before the owners put it into storage.

I turn 27 in January and I'm a software engineer. I don't make that much money, but I'm passionate enough about Ferrari to make sacrifices to own one.

Another thing I've noticed is that there are quite a number of Ferrari owners who are young (myself included-24). Is it this whole dot.com computer thing? I'm a welder/fabricator, these high-tech trades pay very well, because there aren't very many people qualified to do this kind of work. But what do these other people do to earn enough to own a Ferrari?

Several people get bonuses this time of year and the car market seems to follow the economy by a year or two. You have to make money in stocks and only liquidate it when you feel the market isn't favorable. The market isn't too favorable right now.

That's the only thing I can think of, but I don't know.

It seems that there are alot of people out there looking to buy a Ferrari now. Any reason why choose the winter-time to buy? Do prices drop? Christmas presents for themselves?
