I took my freshly repainted rims to the store where I bought my tires from. The machine grabs from behind, so no worries of nicks or chips. They soap the rim edge thoroughly to help the tire slip on better and the tools never touch the rim. Mine were done superbly and no damage to the new paint.

Go to a place where they sell those crazy polished rims, they won't scratch those, so they certainly won't damage the Ferrari rims.

It is important to find an experienced place. The 308 rims have almost a knife edge corner (almost all rims have a slightly rounded corner, great work Ferrari) right where the machine grabs the rim. So, it can get scratched, nicked, etc very easily. Just make sure they understand this and use liberal amounts of the white grease they use to mount the tire. So far I only had one set of tires mounted, right after getting my rims redone, and it came out perfect.

Craig, I was concerned when I had new tires put on my 328 too... my wheels had no nicks and I wanted to keep it that way. I found out where the local Porsche club had all their tires installed and had this place do it.

Believe it or not, it happened to be "Discount Tire"... I special ordered the tires and even saved a few bucks. This particular store had special equipment for expensive wheels. The manager of the store was great and had his best guy do the job. The guy took his time (I was watching his every move) and it came out absolutely perfect!

I just bought a set of rear tires for my car. I am concerned about getting them installed and balanced. I plan to just give the place the tires and wheels (not the car!). Any ideas where I should go/ what kind of place would be the safest. I don't want any nicks, scratches or breakage(!!!) by inexperienced people.
