I bought my '82 GTSi at FCI back in 6/2000. Paul Reich, the salesman, found it for me and took care of everything. FCI sold the car originally, and serviced it. I was told that the engine had been completely rebuilt at 11,000 miles due to excessive burning of motor oil. Although I was not given any invoice or paperwork to verify this, I would agree that it has been rebuilt. It eats about 1 quart every 800 miles. I have heard that 2-valve injected 308's with bad "rings" burn up a lot more.
IMHO - FCI is a good dealership.

Servicewise - Can't say, never used them.

I have spoke with a couple of their sales and service / parts people and have never been disappointed. They did however have at one time a yellow 308GTBi that I wanted to buy as a parts car, emailed them, and never got a response until I called them. Otherwise, they have always been helpful and courtious. I would probably go to Krause & England. I know Peter Krause and he is an owner and huge fan of Ferrari, Siata, and other Italian auto. He does exceptional and meticulous work.

Their parts dept. is courteous and helpful. It's also worth the call to get put on hold and listen to their background music. It's F-1 racing sounds.

I have never dealt with them, but if things have not changed Wade Johnson is the Parts guy there. He used to be the parts manager at Shelton Ferrari and is a GREAT guy. When I was 19 he gave me a tour of Shelton Ferrari and gave me a load of brochures and stuff. My first Ferrari Dealer experience. If he works at Foreign Cars Italia, still I would use him if I were in the area.

I use Peter's shop here in North Raleigh. Very pleased with service. He's a Ferrari owner as well. Haven't had the pleasure to check out Foreign Cars Italia (an hour drive for me), but heard some good things from other owners, and from Peter for that matter. Also, as Frank mentioned, Steve is at Sport Auto www.sportauto.cc now, so you should be in good hands in Greensboro.

BTW, who is Edward? Is he near RTP (Research Triangle Park) Raleigh/Durham area?

I bought a 1986 TR there several years back when Steve Barney was running it. It was a good place then. I have no idea how it is since it has changed hands. There are several non-dealer Ferrari shops in the area though. Steve Barney has his own place now and Krause & England is a good shop there. Peter Krause knows Ferraris and will give you a good price too. Edward on this board is also in that area although I have never used him.

Has anyone here had any experience with Foreign Cars Italia, the dealer in Greensboro, N.C.? Especially the service & parts departments? There is an outside chance we might move there, so I wanted to do my due diligence.

Thanks in advance!
