The top is motorized; it was Ferrari's first. You manually release the locks on the top of the windshield and pull the top back several inches until you hear a beep. Then when you push the button...the windows drop a couple of inches, the seats slide forward, the top moves back and folds into the area behind the seats, then the seats move back. You then need to install the cover by hand. It's kind of a Rube Goldberg design, but I still love my F355!
