I too have heard that the 95's were more powerful. They had OBDI instead of II, so they also respond better to things like aftermarket exhausts. They also had 2 throttle bodies as opposed to the later years' one. I can email you the buyers guide from forza if u dont have it. John C. sent it to me, let me know. |

There was a thread on 95 355's not so long ago here. I love the look of the berlinetta, in part because you rarely see it (true with the 328 as well). The 95, if i recall, did have some engine issues with respect to the valves, but when my friend bought a 95 spider from Algar, Tony, the chief wrench there said that the 95 was actually more powerful than later 355's, and that the valve problems were overemphasized. I think the Forza buyer's guide also addresses this. If the car hasn't been abused, and is a good price, its a great car for fun; as to whether it will be reliable, but that's sort of like asking __________{fill in the blank with your favorite, animate sex object) the same question. |

Lupo: http://www.nsxfiles.com/stories.htm Read through the stories found at the above link, it'll give an honest, everyday impression of what happens when you "drive" your Ferrari. Off the top of my head, I know that on the '95 model year there was a recall on the horn assembly of some cars, a recall on the fuel lines. The '95's also had problems w/ the exhaust manifolds cracking-you can still have this fixed as all emission's items have a 7 year mandatory warranty, however time is running out, then again it may well be a perfect excuse for an aftermaket exhaust and headers. Also, the first cars equipped w/ the F1 tranny had some leakage issues, the 98's w/ having insufficently torqued steering wheel nuts, and the spyder's had a recall on the screws in the soft top possibly causing damage to the fuel tank itself. Hope this helps, -Hubert |

I think it's great you want to have it as a daily driver. I have a client who uses a 512TR as a daily, but it's filthy most of the time. I'm too picky and don't like the idea of being exposed in too many parking lots. |

A particular gremlin you should understand about the 95 F355s is that Ferrari changed the valve guides from bronze to ???? late in the model year (from data gathered from 348 challenge racing). |

Lupo, Had a '97 355,sold it in '00 for a 360.After initial tranny problem (fixed under warranty) put on 12000mi trouble free.Still I personally did not and would not use it as a daily driver. Not because of the reliability of the car but more because of my need to have that piece of sculpture looking pristine at all times. In Portland, Or weather would be detailing the car 2/3 days in the winter. Also there is the problem of parking. Most people are respectful of other's property but there are those sickies who would deface the car for kicks.Unless you have a single enclosed garage space at work I would pass on leaving it unattended all day. It's a great car! |

Tom: Very little snow here. We're part of the Pacific Northwest, so we get a lot of rain. Can be very wet here during fall, winter and spring... |

if you are in canada, that means snow, salt etc etc. Not sure you could drive it everyday in the winter. |

Bruce: I'm in Vancouver, Canada, and the dealer is Brian Jessel Ferrari. The 355B has 15000 km. acw: Thanks for your response. I do have another vehicle, but I do plan to use the ferrari everyday for work, and not so much as a "grocery getter". Main concerns are reliability, wear and tear. I mean, just how "sensitive" is this car? |

As you know 95 was early in the 355 production so be very carful about making sure all recalls have been performed. Get the car checked by both a mechanic and a body shop. Body shop checks are useful to find out about body repairs, painting, etc... Ferrari prices are usually greatly affected by miliage, hence you may find a later car with similar miles for a similar price. Remember this is a nation wide market. Look at all the 355 available in the US or whatever country you live in. As far as the daily driver part, remember that a Ferrari is very visible. I take my car to work about twice a week, however, I would be very concerned about taking it to a mall or park it outside in a city. ACW |

Could any of you offer any words of wisdom, as to purchasing a 1995 355B. I've done some research, but would love to hear first hand information as to the reality of this being my daliy driver. Thanks |
