Rob, I know someone is parting one out in Australia! I bought some stuff off of him, but you may not want his car. The look of the GT4 really has to be seen in person, it really grows on you! |

Mine will be ready to go this fall, as for the summer- I will be driving the heck out of it! 3000 miles already driven this month! Not an issue with it yet! Ciao Erik |

I have driven several GT4s before I bought my 308 GTS QV. I will tell you that the GT4 has a much nicer ride, due to the longer wheelbase. It has a usable rear seat, which I could have used in many cases in the GTS. I love how the GT4 looks and sounds! But I ended up with a GTS, and I am happy camper. I LOVE my 308!! Nowadays, you can get into a GT4 for a song. There is one for sale at Gullwing Motors for like $18k. I remember in 1999 when I ran a 86 TR at a track event at Roebling Road, I could not lose a GT4 except on the straight, he ate me alive in the corners and I'm not kidding. The GT4 makes a superb track and race car. |

As a GT4 owner for about 18 months, I'd agree with Mike, that you lose very little of the "wow-factor" from people when you have a GT4. Everyone seems to think mine is great looking, and very exotic! I always prefered the look of the 308GTB, and probably still do, but value for money, and practicality are very big pluses. The +2 seating is acceptable for enthusiastic adults on short drives, and I can fit a baby seat in the back very well. They can be rusty, so check carefully especially front wings and rear arches, but I suppose they are no worse than other cars of this sort of age. I'm in the UK, so have what you call a Euro version, and I find the performance very acceptable (almost as quick as my old 3.2 911 Carrera). Classic and Sportscar this month calls GT4's the "...most underrated Ferrari of the lot". I think I agree (may be slightly biased though!) |

I have owned my GT4 for a few years and agree with everything posted so far. I had spent 6 months looking for an early 308 GTB when I ran across what was to become my car. I bought a car in much better condition, and for less money, than any of the dozens of GTB's that I had looked at. Being a little different and not blindly following the crowd has paid off as I now enjoy all of the GT4's qualities that are often overlooked by many potential 308 owners. After one spends some time studying a GT4 in person an appreciation of Bertone's design quickly developes. I would agree that the original Euro version looks much better than the US version. IMHO the best thing for a GT4 is to upgrade to 16" wheels, Ferrari 308-4V or a Ferrari style aftermarket such as Speedline or Compomotive. The design is visually improved over the "rollerskate" look of the 14" wheels and the handling is even better. I have found that the GT4 generally receives as much attention as a GTB/GTS just about everywhere except at a Ferrari event. Forza (#7, Fall '97) and European Car (Nov "97) both had buyer's guide articles on the GT4. Everyone seemed to agree that it was the best of the 308's. As with any Ferrari purchase, talk to former and current owners and look at as many examples as you can to really educate yourself on what to look for before seriously shopping. Good hunting! |

Hi John Try Autotrader.ca BTW, GT4's rock! Low entry cost, easy to work on, lot's of room, 2852 or 2856 built (plus a bunch 208 GT4's). Oh, and get a Euro model, there is no pollution junk or large bumpers or side lights. It depends on your location though regarding smog validation. In Ontario they smog test up to 20 years old. |

Good luck with your search. I don't know how familiar you are with the GT4, but they a nice cars. Handle great, and much more comfortable then other 308 models with the shorter wheelbase. I bought mine back in February. LOVE IT! |

Thanks fellas--condition wanted? well, as nice of a car one can come up with for as little $$$ possible...;) Yes, I realize its all relative, but something with a solid body and original drivetrain w/documentation would be nice for starters--I wouldn't care if there were any options on it. I'm just trying to get a feel for the GT4 market in this economy-- How many were produced in total? How many shipped to North America? Yes, that blue "project" car would be a sort of "neighborhood rehab"... JW |

I would like to hear of any good used F-car dealers out there that have GT4's in stock--I had a couple of links Peter in Canada sent me long ago, but I can't seem to find them now. Any links are much appreciated. Thanks- John W |
