Makes me think twice about all the macho talk on this site (and others) concerning how fast Joe Ferrari Owner ran his new ride late at night down the seldom traveled highway. Just because you can afford a high performance auto does not mean you are Mario or A.J. and can handle it. I know of 4 different fatality crashes involving Corvettes here in Arkansas where the drivers "outdrove" their abilities. |

Like many of you I occasionally find myself doing some spirited driving. I recently heard about an incident that occurred not far from here during a routine hillclimb event. I do not persoanlly know anyone who was involved or present at the event. The outcome of this incident is unfortunately not very pleasant. I rarely start threads here that contain little or no Ferrari content and this one involves a Viper. It's not an item to get your week off on the right foot, but it does bring me personally back to the reality that what we sometimes do in our cars can be very dangerous. Sometimes we all need a reminder. 2 links about the incident (no pics): http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000561.html http://www.tahoebonanza.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?Site=TB&Date=20020619&Category=NEWS&ArtNo=206190103&Ref=AR Obviously there is alot of 3rd hand information going around about it, and I've heard a number of various stories, either way the end result still remains the same. Please everyone drive carefully and be safe. Thanks for allowing me to share something I feel is important to all. -Ben |
