I think the name sucks (c'mon, think of the last time Ford named a car after someone--Edsel) but the looks are starting to grow on me. In a previous thread, someone mentioned a resemblance to the 250 LM. Methinks that was Pininfarina's intention here, with the inspiration below...
and the result:
just my two cents. |

Back in the 80's, I felt there would never be a Ferrari better looking than the 308.. Then the Testarossa came along in 84.. What were they thinking of? A few weeks later, not only did I like it, But i still find it to be one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever built.. So give it time.. |

anybody remember how weird the F-40 looked when it first came out? that giant wing and the square sides. nobody i knew liked it. but now you see its styling influences everywhere. especially in the toyota supra. ferrari cant keep making clones of the F cars, they have to move on and set the bar higher. i'm sure that the first time you see one in person you'll s--t wooden nickles! a design that takes time to grow to love is far better than one you fall in love with right away then get tired of. |

"The only thing that is attractive about it is the performance, and even then it still isn't that great" Ok, I have heard everything now. 650hp, V12, over 350 KM/H!!!! Yeah, it's not great at all. Terrible. |

I think they should have gone with the name more like F60 "The Enzo Edition".. As for the look, I think it reminds me alot of the famous Ferrari P3/P4... I feel Ferrari hit it on the head again and they made a step into the future.... Believe me, the look will grow on you.. |

Fair point, Ernie. Although it seems the kit car world is already populated by knock-offs of a fair number of Ferrari's more exotic designs. Agree the "Enzo" will likely spawn another replica or two. Marketing aside, always thought the F50 (GT excepted), with it's lift-off top, was originally intended for "street" use. And while I can't speak for Enzo's intentions, the "real car" that you reference may already exist in the form of the 575. It's a fairly capable car that's pretty far from a "museum piece" and not likey to be reproduced in fiberglass anytime soon, IMO. |

Fellas in my opinion the new Ferrari is Ugly! The only thing that is attractive about it is the performance, and even then it still isn't that great. Seeing that Ferrari blocked all thoughts of racing the F50, you can bet your butt this thing will not be raced. In short the car was built for the critics that don't even own a Ferrari. The car looks like is was designed by some dooofus from the kit car world. With the F50 it was built to try and capture the LeMans title and then the World Sports Car Championship, but that was snuffed out due to the F1 Title hunt. It was to be a race car you could drive on the street. This new cars is just for show, kinda of like the ugly stupid fashion designer clothes that are only one of a kinda, and look more like Halloween costumes rather than clothes. Now that Ferrari has captured another F1 title they should get back to basics and focus on a Sports Car Championship. Build a real car, not some goofy modern art museum piece that will never be put to real use the way "Enzo" intended. |

Appearance-wise it lives somewhere between the F40 (best) and F50, IMO. Like the F1-inspired nose and agree with Robert re: Stratos-like doors/windows. Oh, and am glad the wing stayed home. Overall, the aesthetic holds up well in the world of flashy design, I think. Not a huge fan of the name, though. A thoughtful tribute, perhaps, but all Ferraris are named after the man, anyway. Although it could be called "Edsel" and as long as one was parked in my garage it'd be fine by me - as the car's performance will speak for itself, I suspect. |

If its 5 years till it can be called an F60, it must be an F55 which sounds OK to me. I think "Enzo" sounds terrible, haven't made up my mid about its looks yet. The side window profile is like a Lancia Stratos (one of my favorites), and some details are great, but I'll have to reserve judgement till I've seen one. I hated the look of the F50 until I saw one - it may not be the prettiest Ferrari (250SWB) but it certainly has presence!

Couple of points... 1. You just knew the FX would not be the F60. Not with five years until the 60th anniversary in 2007. 2. Has any new Ferrari ever come out that people have liked the styling? The 275 was hammered in the press for being to "old fashioned". What about the TR, 348, 355, and 360? It is just so hard for tifosi to accept anything new. Personally, I like the FX's blend of F40 and F1 up front and new back end. 3. OK, the name does suck. But they had to call it something. |

If "Enzo" must be kept I suggest the full name to be "Ferrari 500 Enzo" 500 for displacement per cylinder. BTW, I like the design, it's so much prototype race car as is can be. Ciao Peter |

They couldn't have called it the F1, thats what the road McLaren is called. Agree with other posters the 'Enzo' IMO looks terrible on paper, I will reserve a very little judgement till (if) I see one for real. |

Ernesto, no Ferrari is ugly till I saw the whatever it will be called Enzo, man, that could've been designed to look better, don't know, maybe I'd have to see it in real life but from pictures I don't like it and as for specs I haven't seen or heard of real testimonials of the performance yet. Don't know but I'm not excited over it but like to hear what test drivers have to say about it so we'll wait till then.. |

I know its early, but are they making a sucessor to it? The F60 is the car they said they wouldnt build, the F50 was supposed to be the last. |

Well, it is obviously too early for an F60, so simply Fiorano would have been cool... I agree the name is a little wierd. FX, Fiorano, even F1 would have been better. Ernesto |

In other words, after Enzo died all Ferraris produced since are "ugly"? I think the new Enzo Ferrari is awesome, looks amazing, and should be the fastest roadgoing supercar out there. THE supercar... Ernesto |

Cmparrf40, you have a car that is more like what Enzo would've liked more than the new model which I feel is too ugly to have a Ferrari badge on it regardless of how much power it has, there will always be a more powerfull car built. If he was alive to see what was going on he'd fire all the designer's. It's very hard to put your personal name on a vehicle made by someone else without you seeing it especially when it isn't the baddest Ferrari ever made. |

The name sucks... I am sure Enzo is rolling over in his grave... He barely tolerated road cars and now the name one after him. It should have been called F60 I can see it now at the next FCA meet: "What kind of Ferrari do you have?" "I have an Enzo Ferrari Ferrari", "no, i didn't stutter"... this is embarrasing |

My email said "Enzo Ferrari" too. I'll wait until I see the official photos from all angles to decide wheather or not I like it. I think the name is cool, that's what they should've named the F40. The F40 embodies everything Enzo believed in. |
