We had a black targa TR in Indy, converted in FL, maybe by Straman, thing was stiffened but still flexed when driven hard. |

The car does look a bit odd....that's why I took it for a kit at first. It looks 348-esque but with a very wide arse Doesn't appear to be any other mods to the car (a la Koenig side-slate removal). Next time I see it, I'll try to get pics and track down the owner :D Mike |

I love the lines of the TR as a coupe or even a cont'l.. The targa takes alittle getting use to. But I remember the article on how it was put together.. The job itself cost about $25,000 at the time.. Take pics of it if you see it again... |

Yes, I remember seing a few targa versions in the magazines during the 80's. I have too many magazines piled up in boxed to go look, and I don't remember who made them. I think it was also Stramann. But they did look very good. There are some pics at www.ferrariturbo.com, under testarossa, then "targa conversion", but this is not the one I saw in the magazines. Ernesto |

Stramann did these conversions; there was also a one-off for Agnelli. See R&T Sept. 1987.NB: i realize you said you know about the convertibles, which these are; i don't have any info on "targas" without research and i haven't time to look now. Anybody else? |

Here in east Tennessee, we don't have too many F-cars (although there is a coppa bella winner from this year, but I digress) but I was driving along and a TR passed me and it had a targa top like a GTS. I brushed it off as a kit car and that was that...until yesterday when I saw the car parked at a local restaurant and I inspected a bit closer (from my car)...looked like a real TR around 86-87 and a targa top which looked like a pretty good job. Anyone have any info on who would have done these conversions? I didn't want to make a scene and call out for the owner in the restaurant (although I thought that one through hard!) I have seen the convertibles, but I have never seen a targa TR...pretty neat...especially for little 'ole Knoxville Mike |
