Well, after multiple sessions of bondo and spray cans, I figured it was time to get a new front spoiler for my TR. I decided to try the NZ source that Joe Dutch had found. Cost was $160.00 plus $140.00 shipping to me in CA. The spoiler arrived in good condition, and was packed quite well. The quality of the part appears to be at least as good as the factory part, with a nice smooth black gelcoat finish. One of the rear corners needed to be touched up, but that was a 15 minute job with some spot putty. 45 minutes of primering, sanding, and painting semi gloos black produced a part that looked perfect and weighted ~ 5 pounds less than the old part (parts of which were mostly bondo by now). A concern was the lack of mounting bolts on the new part. I had to remove the bolts from the old spoiler and glass them onto the underside of the new part. Took about 15 minutes to do, and 12 hours to set up. So total cost was $310.00 plus a hour of labor, and 2 hours pulling the old spoiler off and putting the new one on. Overall Id say it was a good deal and I saved about 1K over the cost of a factory new part. Contact info for Allan at AFE in NZ: [email protected] Scott
