Ya I checked that all the ground and connections were fine. Once I popped the alternator off I found that it would bind up every revolution giving me that typical wish....wish....wish sound that I have come to love hearing when an alternator went on another one of may cars. I would upgrade to the Nippo except for the simple fact that it is over $1200 for the parts alone from what I hear. I am going to attempt to get my Delco unit rebuild with an upgraded amperage and see what happens. If it goes again then I will get the nippo. |

Are you sure it is the alternator. My 348 Spider had the same problem and it turned out to be a lose positive lead on the alternator. If it turns out to be the alternator, I would go ahead and upgrade to the Nippo one and can the Delco. |

To everyone who responded to me, via email, even though the server was down this weekend you have no idea how much I appreciate your help. I think by Saturday afternoon I had ten or more emails flowing in offering helpful tips or cross references on the damn alternator itself. I never did find an alternator that matched up exactly with mine, the local parts store guys werent the least bit helpful, so I am currently having the alternator rebuilt at NAPA here in town with the hopes that I can get it back in the car before I head to Miami on Wednesday evening. Anyway I dont have everyones name here at work with me and I dont want to forget anyone so to all of your out there who fired me off emails and helped out you are what makes FerrariChat so great!! I thank you! This board just rules!!
