I do have spacers inc bolts for the aftermaket rims so that they can be put on a 308 or 328.

OK last try. I WILL let it go to the highest bidder. Had to make a private auction as some dealers emailed my bidders. Not very nice. I am motivated. Email me with any questions!

Robert,

Buy the 3.2 cabriolet. It appears that the price is rock bottom.....it will be easier to sell later, and the service is easier. I had one myself. Remember, this is a 4-seater, thus you will drive it like you would any car.....except get a lot of enjoyment out of it......and no one will want to drag-race you.

They need to be replaced every 5 years. On mine this was done last year, so in 4 years. It is not that expensive on a 308/328/Mondial/Mondial 3.2 as it can be done with the engine in. Mondial T - the engine has to come out.

Belt replacement interval?
I have seen written that the timing belts need to be replaced every 2 years or 6k miles, is this about right? On a car with 30k miles what would be the biggest service coming up in the next 2years/6000mi interval?

Mine is working just fine and it has always been very reliable with the lights.

Offers welcome. You won't find a nicer and better Mondial. This car is stunning and a real crowdpleaser. Needs nothing.

Hey, while we're discussing Mondials: does your warning light panel (the one down on the center console in 3.2s) work?

Mine doesn't, and I was told by my friendly Ferrari dealer that the control box (which is the problem) is pure unobtanium.

Any thoughts?

I have an 86 coupe and it cost me almost $10K to get everything sorted out when I bought it about 2 months ago. The previous owner only did about 6000km since 96, so it wasn't serviced properly. I got an exceptional deal on it though, so the repair bill didn't hurt so bad.

It drives quite well now and has plenty of power. The V8 rumble sounds good too!

I also have an 86 3.2. Mine is pretty early (60531, IIRC), but it's been pretty good so far, now that I'm past the initial bugs.

My car had been sitting for about 18 months when I bought it, and it had a lot of problems. Most of them I knew about, but there were a few surprises.

I thought at one time about buying a t, but there is a considerable difference in price. I have to say that I wasn't really looking for a Mondial when I bought mine, it just popped up locally and was a reasonably good deal.

Something to keep in mind: if the rear windows don't work (on a cab), I'd stay away from the car. I had to replace the window motors on mine, and that was a much bigger deal than I would have guessed.

I have an 86. The first year, generally it is best to buy the last year (89) of any f-car production run though by now most of any issues are sorted out. mine is for sale though I may have trouble letting go. :-(

Tom, what year is your 3.2. If I'm in the market to buy one is there any year I should stay away from?

was discussion a few months back on this. T has more power, better seats, modern interior, diff cheese graters. I think reliablity of 3.2 is probably a little better but depends on years - ie 88 3.2 versus 89 t. T cost more to service - engine out for major. T has ABS while I think only a few 3.2 do. I love my 3.2

Is there a big difference in reliabilty between the 3.2 vs. mondial-t. I've never driven the T does is have any significant improvements that I would notice driving it daily?
Thanks for any input
