I HAVE HEARD AND USED THEM BOTH IN THE PAST. I LIKED VINNY AT AUTO ELITE MORE BECAUSE HE SEEMS TO BE MORE PROFESSIONAL AND KNEW HIS FERRARI INSIDE OUT. PLUS HE USED TO BE THE HEAD MECHANIC AT A VERY WELL KNOWN FERRARI DEALER IN NEW YORK BEFORE HE WENT ON HIS OWN. HE IS VERY RELIABLE , ON TIME AND DOES NOT USE ANY AFTERMARKET PARTS WHICH I REALY LIKE. HE ONLY USED ORIGINAL FERRARI PARTS AND HIS PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE. HE IS ALSO TRAVELING WITH THE GUYS AT THE FERRARI DEALER IN LONG ISLAND THUS HAVING FIRST HAND INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW VEHICLES |

Hi - I had Doug come over my house once to inspect my ferrari, it wouldn't start. He immediately figured out what what was wrong (I have an '84 Mondial Cab). I had a bad fuel pump connection (which I fixed) and the starter was bad. He quoted me $1,400 to replace the starter. I then called Ferrari fo Long Island in Glen Cove and they did it for $700 (both were quoting on rebuilt starter). Doug appears to be a good mechanic, but he may be a bit expensive. Hope this helps. If you find a good indpendent on Long Island, let us know - I live in Huntington. |

Anyone have any experience with Doug Pirrone of Berlinetta Motorcars, Ltd. on Long island, or with Vinny at Auto Elite in Fort Lee? I live in northern New Jersey (Teaneck) and am looking for a good independent shop that I can take my car to once I find it. |
