My Wife and I went this Saturday!!! I was VERY Fun indeed. Unfortunately we had to miss the bigger even on Saturday due to Staining our fence on our new house...but Saturday was a blast.

I took some pictures and some video of the day and what we did...I should have them on my site by tomorrow at latest. (I'm still also waiting for Cable modem to be installed at home) Probably the coolest thing was that we met an older British man Saturday on a little Vespa who seemed to be very nice. He asked us what we were doing there and we just answered that we were huge Ferrari enthusiasts and were there to hear the sounds and see the greatest cars made run a race or two. He and my wife exchanged some comments about the Vespa and Thailand (Where she is from) and then we pretty much said nice to meet you and walked away. Well, it seemed like there was a line of people waiting to get a ride in the new 360 Spyders that they had delivered there...and my wife simply asked if they were just taking people out. One guy said that " No this is only for Ferrari people..." and pretty much waived us on. I saw the older British guy mouthing somehting to one of the guys driving the cars and pointing at us. I didn't think much of it until someone came over to us and said to hold on a minute and they would arrange somehting for us. He said "Stuwart (Sp?) said to get you guys in here and take you out for while..." So I was like "COOL!" So my wife and I went out for a while in a 360 spyder and took some video of the whole thing. It was pretty awesome, and even though I've never been a huge convertible fan...the 360 S is one great drop top. Just watching the top go up and down was pretty neat ^_^.

So anyway, it wasn't til later that I put two and two together and along with a mention from someone else I realized that Stuwart was THE Stuwart. He was President of Ferrari NA. So needless to say my wife and I found him again and thanked him very much for arranging for us to get a couple of joy rides in their new cars. He was very nice and was happy that we enjoyed it. I was wondering why there were alot of people kissinf up and complimenting everything he did and said...which seemed to anoy him. I guess I was clueless due to the fact that there were amazing machines abound.

We met some really cool people the other day and saw some great cars. Event hought thery were qualifying the sounds were there and the day was a good one.

Too bad more people don't know about this... the fans were few!?! They let you drive through the tunnel (under the track) at Texas Motor Speedway and right into the infield, paddock area and garages. You can look at the cars, chat with the mechanics and drivers... what a hit!!!

Just got back from the Challenge races. Oh my gosh!!! Awesome as any Ferrari always is, it's nice to see them doing what they should be doing. BobD was out there earlier in the day, I missed him, but he sent me some great pics. I'll post his on a page and get mine up as soon as their developed and scanned.

I don't know about the first two races, but Steve Earle won the Enduro.

I was at Texas Motor Speedway for the national autocross tour and I found out that they were having the Ferrari Challenge races at TMS this weekend as well. Anyway, after I finished my runs and work assignment, I drove up to the tunnel gates and proclaimed I was a member the Ferrari Club of America. They said so what, but you can get in if you pay $15. Today was just practice and qualifying.

Tomorrow, for $15 you can watch all day and walk around the pits. Enter through the South tunnel. Besides the 40 or so 355 & 360 challenge cars, FNA has several 360 Spiders that they've been training salespeople on this week. The main races are 1pm, 2pm, and the enduro is 3pm. The morning will just be practice sessions. It's awesome to hear those Ferraris as they hit 160 mph on the oval and have to paddle shift down to 2nd for the chicane. I was standing right there with Mr. Risi, who fielded that 333 in Daytona this year and I think he may have won Daytona in 1998. He owns Ferrari of Houston and Dallas. I also believe that the President of FNA was there scooting around on a Vespa.

I'll be there tomorrow as soon as I finish my autocross. I won't have the Ferrari out there, but I'll be wearing a red Ferrari Club of America polo shirt. Say hi if you see me.

Ciao
