Brian, I do not know why in the State of Florida that should not be illegal. That would be the first that I hear of that. I am sure you can file a small claims against them and recover your money. In general I agree with that you should watch out. The Toy Store is notorious for these "deals". As a FL licensed car dealer I do all my buying and selling either in person or through a lawyer's trust account. If you buy through me you have the same option. We actually have that on our contracts. BTW I would consider that common sense not just for dealing in the sunshine state! |

brian.....and then being careful. bought a car from the 'toy store' a few years ago, 2 weeks after they gave it a clean bill of health, i had big problems with the brake hydraulics system which all had to be replaced to the tune of $5k, and since i was no longer near them they did not respond and did not want to know. lesson learned. |

I tried to buy from them... they still have my money... I never got a car from them. And amazingly, FL laws don't seem to consider that criminal. If you deal with any FL dealership, I recommend not paying a dime until you have the car in your possession. |

The problem with that strategy for Ferraris is that everyone already looks nationwide, so there aren't many hidden deals. Still, if you're patient and willing to take a chance, you might get lucky. |

Doody, I'll probably just try to find a very good price from an individual seller vs. some of these fishy dealers. My goal is to be able to enjoy the car and have the option of selling without taking huge loss if need be in the next 12-18 months. Its much easier to do this with more conventional cars. I found my Lexus GS400 for $7,000 under KBB retail by doing research and being willing to look nationwide. I can use it for a year or more and still sell it for what I paid. |

nunja - i kinda get the feeling from your posts that you're fishing in the bottom of the barrel :-) you might reconsider the strategy of buying the rock-bottom cheapest version of a car on the market. you're likely to "pay for it" one way or the other over time. only in the housing market might you want the least expensive home in the neighborhood ;-) imo, fwiw, you're likely to get what you pay for in the six-figure ferrari marketplace. looking to get a car for well below general market pricing means either (a) it's going to show with problems and/or (b) you might have to deal with some dealers you might regret dealing with later. that doesn't mean you can't get a great car at a great price if you're patient and careful, but the lower the price the more patient and careful you'll need to be. my two pennies. doody. |

Just looking for some impresssions of this delearship. They seem to be able to get Euro 360 coupes to sell in the $130's. Thanks for any feedback you can offer. |
