I have Nationwide. The coverage is 250/500, with a $1000 deductible, and a 500 deductible for comprehensive. There is no mileage limitation, and I pay $820.00 per year. The umbrella 1 milliion is about another $100 per car.

i was shocked to be able to renew my 512tr insurance at a considerably lower rate this year! last year i paid $2400/yr, with a limit of 2000 miles and a $800 deductable (i am translating all this from ). this year, the guy comes back and proposes $1680, with the same restrictions ! i booked him with a smile.
must say this is contrary to all my other insurances being renewed at the moment - every single one of them has gone up between 10 and 50pct...

Hi Steve,

Don't forget you pay only 15% flat tax rate maximum in HK and you should save a lot of money then staying in the States and the extra you paid for the patrol is only a very small fraction on the total expenditure in taking care of your F-car.

Just my two pennies.

Wow, I definitely live in the wrong country - I know my fuel costs are 3-4x higher than the US..but seems we even get screwed on the insurance.
For a 355 Spider I pay $6700 per year. Insured value $100k. That's with 20% no claims bonus, and a 15% excess on own damage.

I thank my lucky stars for the "Collector" car program established by the Insurance Corp. of B.C., as an old car like mine costs pennies to insure:

-$2000000 third-party coverage
-$200 each collision/comprehensive deductible
-agreed value
-unlimited mileage

All for $500 Canadian/year

The catch? I can't drive it to work or school (big deal, that's what daily drivers are for...).

I have my 308 QV insured for $45K stated value and my policy is for 500K/500K/100K. The policy is through Allstate, I live in NJ (home of the country's highest insurance rates), I am 20 years old, and my annual cost is $1K. There are no restrictions of any kind on my policy so I am free to drive the car as much as I want and where I want.

When I was in Chicago a few years back, I tried getting insurance on a 84 308 and was quoted anywhere from 4,000 to 5,000 a year. Then I came across Response Indemnity Company and had my car covered for only 1200 a year with a 1000 deductable. When I moved backed to California, the insurance dropped to 800.00 a year for the 308. My 89 328 is insured with AAA along with my truck and to add the 328 only costed me 300.00 a year with a 1000 deductable. Try Response for a quote and good luck.

It depends a lot on where you live. I have 5 cars with Chub in the Sarasota area for $4200/year: a 328, 512TR, 360 Spider, S55 AMG, and Jeep. All stated value and $1000 deductable. I quit Progressive because of lousy business practices ie: hugh second year rate increase. State Farm in Florida was also very competative.

I just got a quote from Progressive. The highest tier of protection on a 99 360 (along with two Lexus GS models) will cost me about $2,777 every six months. I forgot what the exact coverage level was ($300K per person bodily I think) with a $250 dedeuctable. I'm 31 with a clean record for the last 3 years or so. I thought that figure seemed very high.
