May I ask you to define "new" horn? What do they sound like and how long has Ferrari been installing the "new" horns? Thank you all for your responses! |

The new horns are being installed at the factory on all Ferrari models due to the stringent noise regulations in Switzerland and some other EU countries. This has also been the case with Porsche cars since model year '96 when they switched from the "trumpet" style. The US government has yet to impose noise regulations that even come close to the Swiss'. |

Oh, I also believe that all360's use this horn. As far as I know, the Italian spec 360's also have the new horn. I saw no air horn option on the Ferrari Spa option list. I could be wrong though.. it has happened before! Having said this, I am pretty sure you can special order anything from the factory. You just have to ask. Ernesto |

I want to keep the car original for reasons other than depreciation (ie. concours judging, etc.). Therefore, I would like the factory to install the air horns vs. after market installation. |

I dont think a Ferrari 360 will depreciate substantially if install FIAMM air horns in. After all, I believe the factory air horns are also FIAMM. I have already bought mine, but was waiting for the front challenge grills to install them (since you need to remove the bumper for both installations). Ernesto |

So does anyone know if the FACTORY will install Italian air horns upon request (and additional lira, of course)? My intent is to get the air horns while keeping the car as "factory" as possible. |

Actually, Tini, I don't think it's US regulations, since the 550/575 still comes with the proper air horn. I think Ferrari is just cutting costs (same reason they have used a cheesy bar graph LED gas gauge in the 360, which is now being used in the 575 instead of the 550's proper round dial. Also, there are no front brake cool-air ducts in the 360, whereas there were in the 355. Cutting costs where they think people won't too much, to boos their margins. |

Don't believe so because of US regulation. But some of us have installed Fiamm air horns with wonderful result and low cost. JCWhitney carries a bunch of Fiamm horns for under $50. A couple of friends and I had them installed by a Ferrari approved body shop, with no drilling. |

Does anyone know if the factory will install an Italian air horn upon request on a 360 Spider instead of the standard, boring "factory installed" horn? |
