Here's a cover on ebay. It's on a 360, but says is for all 3 series.

Yeah good point Art. I think I'm gonna need another cover soon actually, mine it starting to wear a little thin where it tucks over that huge US bumper. Mine is a California Car cover, it's custom fit and I like it so would probably get another one. Although those ones with the big prancing horse are nice...

Brett:

My brown cover does that. It took over 3 washes to get it clean, kept leaving marks on the car. You may want to take it to a professional instead of washing so many times, like I did.

Art,
You're not anal....everytime I finish using the car, it gets a quick wipedown with Pinnacle Crystal Mist and a microfibre towel.....

I called Cover Car by Andrea (make the original 360 covers)....bless, her English wasn't very good, but she said send an email, it'll take them a few days, but they will get back to us (oh, how Italian!!!)....I really like the SOFT quilted cover on their website (I'm going to use it when I ship the car to the US)

FYI, I have washed the 360 cover 3-4 times, they come out great....no color fade or shrinkage....these really are superb covers

I don't subscribe to the "custom" cover stuff. I get the medium, one-size-fits-all cover for $35.00 sooo, When the wheel dust and Tire Blak build up, I just toss it. (Or usually turn it into shop rags.)

Starting with a new cover, i feel i keep the most bothersome dust off, you know, I got a black car. And, when out (like rob said) let the art work show, I always seem to get #1 valet spot.

Little help here, if two Ferrari show up ( maybe at three forks) at the same time, who gets #1 spot. Is it the red "Magnum PI" Model, the black convertable sleek "Girly Car," or the thing under the cover.

I'll try to find the company that makes my cover. It's high quality all weather outdoor for about $250. I saw the ad out of Forza. They put extra slack in the back so the exhaust tips don't touch it. I shut her off and then 1 minute later the cover is over her. After 18 months the underside is getting dirty from touching the tires and brake dust. I plan on giving it a good washing soon, I'm not looking forward to it. I keep mine covered at home and work. Going to bars and resteraunts I leave the artwork for all to see.

I ordered an indoor only UltraSoft 100% Cotton cover in Red from WWW.autoanything.com I think for the TR it was $200+ or so.

My cover makes my car dirtier than it would be sitting in the garage without it. Maybe I should wash it.

I have a nice cover that came with my car but never use it. I wipe it down in the garage every night. When I take out the trash I'd rather see the car than a cover. If I go on a 3 week trip MAYBE I'll cover it in the garage.

I also cover mine after letting the engine and exhaust cool. Most garages have far to much dust and debris floating through the air. At least with the cover on, it's as clean as when I last washed it.

Steve,

I agree with Art and anyway my garage is not as modern as most. I kept noticing a build up of dust after just washing it a day or so earlier. Therefore, I just started covering it and that solved the dust problem. I wish I did not have to for exactly the reason you stated. :-(

When my car is home, there is dust, etc. from the heater, garage, etc, that I don't want on the car. Usually when I get home, I either wash or wax the car, depending on what it needs, and then let it sit for a while to dry, then cover it. That way when I want to use it again, it looks perfect. Sounds anal, but it works for me, and by keeping it that clean, it takes very little time to keep it clean.

When I get home after any kind of run in the TR, I always leave the garage door open and raise the deck lid for around 30 minutes or so to let the motor/mufflers cool, before covering it and closing the garage door. Common sense tells me that by doing this it keeps the rubber and plastic engine bay parts from ageing faster if I did not.

What do you guys think?

Robert,

I had the same problem getting a price so I filled out an order form and will wait to see if they respond. When they do, I will post it up.

BTW, I asked for a quote on a red TR cover. That should give us an idea.

In addition, one of my covers is a red one with the rectangular SF badge that is 10" H X 5" W and it came from Beverly Hills Motoring. It is custom made for my TR (high mirrors) and I bought it on eBay for $100.00. It is brand new with a carry bag.

There's another thread on the forum asking whether there are price differences between European and US Ferrari spare parts ....
$650 from a US Dealer
$261 from a UK Dealer (I bought a spare about 2 months ago)

This is the company who makes the red custom factory covers for Ferrari. It has the logo, etc. I have one and like it.

You can buy the same thing through a dealer... but you'll probably pay twice as much as going direct.

I've had the same problem as Martin, exhaust burns on the cover. Never had motor discoloration.

I put my cover right over the exhaust tips right when I get home and it never does anything to it. If I don't tuck it over though and let the outside of the cover touch the tips we get a little meltage though.

I do the same thing. I pull the car cover up to the rear tail-lights and bumper. When the engine has cooled, I'll pull over the remaining section of the rear.

I don't know about the engine but the exhaust will definitely put a hole in your cover. At home, I cover back to cover when I arrive and the rest when it cools.

When taking my 360 to work, I'm tempted to put the red car cover on to protect it from the sun, birds, etc...

However, I'm wondering if it is safe to put the car cover on when the engine is still hot. I'm afraid the cover will melt/burn on the car.

Can I safely put the cover on when the engine is hot or should I wait an hour or so?

Thanks for any input
