It will probably be automatic. If you're gonna buy a exotic sports car, buy a real exotic sports car, not one of these.

SLR

"We are now less than a year away from the scheduled launch of the 550bhp-plus Mercedes-Benz GT supercar, first presented as a study at the international Auto Show in Detroit back in 1999. The study was initially named the Vision SLR but the final production version will be known as the SLR McLaren.

The latest news from Mercedes is that the worldwide launch of the SLR McLaren is anticipated for June 2003. Around 500 cars per year are planned all of them left-hand-drive - and although the final specifications and the price are yet to be announced, its suggested that the car will cost upwards of 200,000.

It is not unusual for a manufacturer to bring out a road-going supercar with visual echoes of a well-known racing sibling. However, the dramatically styled Vision SLR clearly borrowed elements from both the McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 Silver Arrow, and the SLR models of the 1950s. Another unusual aspect of this Mercedes road car: the SLR McLaren will be built in Britain, at the new production facility within TAG McLaren corporate headquarters near Woking, Surrey. "
