Jason, When I picked up the front grills from the dealer, I joked that I could have made them myself. Upon close examination of the components at home, I estimated that they could could made for about $10 to $15 in materials. A metal shop could reproduce these for probably $50. Yes, I think the parts prices charged by FNA are total ripoffs

Willis, They were £76 plus VAT (17.5%) giving a total of £89.30.....I used an exchange rate of 1.45 Grand total $ 129.49 (each) The prices you guys' quote from US dealers gives me heartburn!!!!....At the time, I thought £76 was too much, hell the grills aren't even anodised...they must have cost all of $5 to produce |

I've wanted to install the BBS Challenge wheels for a long time, but I've been told that they are not suitable for street use because they are very light and will damage easily. I don't know if they make a road replica though... Ernesto |

Jason, the front grills are over $100 a piece more in the U.S.! You sure that your stated prices were converted to US Dollars? Thanks for the heads up on the towing eye. I'll talk to my dealer about that. A bit late to fit the air horn this time. They should have the bumper reinstalled by the weekend and working on scratch removal around the car. Does anyone feel like installing the BBS Challenge wheels on their car? I'm kinda torn between the look of the stock wheels and the Challenge ones. |

I have the front Challenge grills installed on my 360....I also got the air horn package from RM (I could toot the horn all day long, it sounds great)......I am surprised that Shelton said not to install the front grills, they are made of the same stuff as the upper air intakes in the 3/4 panels....The ones that are crap are the lower air intake grills.....I've seen better chicken wire. You'll also need to get the towing eye hook that is made for the front challenge grills (the one that's in the tool kit doesn't fit properely)...FYI here are the prices and part numbers for the items from my Ferrari dealer (UK Prices) 63330300 LH Front Challenge Grill $129.50 63330200 RH Front Challenge Grill $129.50 181454 Towing Eye 360 Challenge $221.50 |

Ernesto: RM also sells a very nice front challenge grill kit to go with the air horns. Check out a PIC of Viken's air horn install here: http://bedrossian.net/Ferrari/360/AirHorns01_R.jpg Solly: I believe the rear challenge grill runs around $1000 or so when purchased from the Dealer parts department. |

Front ones cost about $600 from the dealer. Back grill was a $559 option when I ordered the car. I have no idea what it would cost buying it separately. |

Makes sense. Anyone know the cost for front&rear challenge grills? What a dealer charges? |

The front grills will require bumper removal and each grill is attached with 5 screws. I got mine from the Ferrari dealer. Steven, the spider has a very tight engine compartment. I would think that a rear Challenge grill would greatly increase air circulation back there and keep the temperature down. |

Ernesto: 1) Where did you buy the challenge grills? 2) Did you do front and back? 3) Was the front hard to do? Remove bumper or just a few bolts? I'd like to do at least the front to protect the ducts from sucking in road kill. |

I do not own a 360 but Scott Collins advice seems pretty good reference the challenge front grills --3) Put in front challege grills to keep debris out of the ducts. Simple question, if they work well and save duct internals of stone damage etc. why not just replace them every 2 years. They must be cheap relative to the price of the entire car. This comment is for Ernesto -- if you had a TR with nice cheese grates on the side -- you 360 guys wouldn't have to worry about your intakes getting plugged. All in gest my friend -- I love the fact that you love your 360 as much as I love my TR.

Just a note on the challenge grill. I was told by Shelton NOT to install these on my 360, since it is kept in humid beach environments (Florida, Long Island). Apparently the Challenge grill corrodes easily under humid/salt air conditions and needs to be replaced about every 2 years. It looks pretty cool though, and apparently does aid cooling the motor under very hot driving conditions. |

Willis: You'll love the front challenge grilles. While the front bumper is off, why don't you have your shop install the factory air horns. All Ferraris need to have air horns. :-) |

No, you dont have to remove the bumper or any of the bottom panels. Just open the engine cover and you can reach all the bolts from the inside. There are two that are kind of tough to get to because they are all the way at the corners, but it can be done. Also, there are two brackets on the driver's side that you need to remove from the tail light bolts that hold some cables/wires. Ernesto |

I installed the challenge grill myself on my 360. It took me (with the help of another person) about three or four hours. It is definitely not something you should take to the dealer, as it is super easy to do. You only need to remove about ten bolts to take out the grill, the just remove the rear lights and Pracing Horse and install them on the new grill. No big deal for me - and I am not a mechanic. You can e-mail me if you have any questions! Ernesto |
