Not the wall part 2, another brick in the wall part 2. Must be this CT air getting to my head here.

Thanks Martin, I'm glad to hear you believe in me. Yeah whenever I think of college learning I play a little Pink Floyd, The Wall part 2, we don't need no education.

I was enrolled at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Univeristy in Frankfurt for 4 semester. Officially I studied "Anglistic", but in reality I have no clue what that even is, let alone that I ever went to any gatherings (whatever you call them). I just remember that I was going back there one semester with a Testarossa to re-register.
Really what I did was use the student ID to get cheap into places like the museum and later living in France I even got student discount at the slopes of Isola 2000.

So much for my edukatshiom

Martin's got a point there with the flatbed being a good thing to look into. I've seen almost every type of classic car on the back of a flatbed while going to and coming back from home (I-91 and 95).
Off topic, saw a red 355 on campus, he's the only other kid here to have a Ferrari, and it's his dad's so I don't know if it necessarily counts.

Adam,
the trailer from U-Haul will NOT fit a TR. It is 76 inches wide and the TR has more. I could barely fit a 348 on but that is so super close, you do not want to do that.
Then you need to get a trailer with a long ramp or have boards to help it on and off the trailer. Check with a trailer retailer in your area, they may rent them for a weekend to you.

AAA Plus is really great 100 Miles for free and that 4 times a year.
If you exceed that you gotta pay extra. If it is significant more Miles you can always rent a Budget truck, 24 Foot or 20 Floot Dock Height with a wide door. Bring the TR on a flat bed tow truck and back the tow truck to the truck. It will fit. Have some tie straps from Home Depot (The heavy duty ones)and tye the car in 4 corners to the truck. This is how I transported the 308GT4 Competition from PA back to Miami.

lol William it's good to see nothings changed with the girl situation. Come to think of it we've never actually met, we talked on the phone a couple times, but no meetings. I might have to make you come with us on one of our rallies this summer, maybe in southern CT.
Adam I think you'd have a hell of a time getting a TR on a U-Haul trailer. I put the 308 on one once when transporting it, got it up just barely with out hanging up (I mean just barely, like push the suspension a little and it would bottom out). The TR is a lot lower. Width wise too I think it might be a little tight. I would go by and take a couple measurements off a trailer of theirs, to be honest though I don't think it would work, it's worth some investigating though. I would check out WWoC and see what they say. Some of those guys are pretty good with this stuff.

Adam, if you have a problem and you are a long way from home, you can rent a U-haul truck and trailer pretty cheap, I had to this with my 308GTB when I lost a plug out of the Carb, when I was in Arkansas. And I needed to haul it back home to Texas. My 308 went on with no problem, I don't know about a TR.

AAA Plus is the way to go, Bret, we'll talk this summer. I think I am going to write a book about all my adventures some day :-) Just met the most beautiful tiny Columbian Senorita :-) Yummy

Adam, back to your problem, there r lots of places that can rent u space to park your trailer, maybe u can even rent the trailer from somewhere.

Another idea is to contact Wide World or another dealer to ship your car up & do all the work on it at the track for around $500-$1000 per weekend

AAA has no issue with towing from a track, if that's your worry. It's no different than towing from anywhere else. So assuming you have the mileage covered, or money to pay...

I upped my AAA mileage to just reach from the track to my house :-)

William, first tend to Adam's trailer problem before reading anything ridiculous I am about to write.
I've come to the conclusion that you are not going to have children William. You will need someone to succeed the empire that you're building. I think I know someone that you should take under your wing, he'll even provide his own Fcar to learn from you in. He's still young so can be entirely corrupted into your international playboy ways. I wonder who I could be talking about...

William;

I have a ML430 that is great for towing, but I have no place to store a trailer. If I could rent one for the W/E's would be great, but I think the Uhaul trailers are not wide enough for a TR.

Adam, do u have an SUV ? u can buy an open trailer cheap or just buy a cheap old pick up or rent a truck. its the best way.
Ive had a few problems at the track & had to be hauled home or stayed at a friends house a few extra nights but then again I dont have to check in for work

The S2000's meet at Laguna Seca back in January had two incidents. One of them, banging up every body panel on the car - was drivable, all the way back to San Jose, the other was undrivable because the front end hit a wall. (don't ask) A flat bed was called for that car, a drive to the nearest rental place got him a rental car so he could get back to SoCal. Thus it is possible to get a rental and get your car towed from a track, but as far as an F-car at the track breaking down - I don't have any experience in that.

If you do plan on doing this, you are risking very little: a few more miles on the car going to and from the track, and the risk that if something does happen you will have to get a flatbed to haul it off to your home or shop and possibly a rental car. That is, unless you come across a friend with a truck and a friend with a trailer and haul a car back - I have been in this situation many years ago back in the Solo II days. Some people are too generous to lend out trucks and trailers in times of need.

I have not tracked a car since my Porsche day's where we used to trailer a few cars from the dealership to the track. I will putting the TR on the track this year, but will be driving it to the events, and will be going by myself. Has anyone had a minor or major mechanical problem on the track and have been stuck. Do you call AAA? I would rent a trailer if I knew of one that would fit a TR just in case. I just do not want to be stuck on my own with no way back to NJ. Input?
