Sorry, no Stable info, but your question brings back some memories. I learned to drive in a car identical to that 380SL listed there (same color and everything, although I think ours was an '83). I used to spend my entire weekends detailing the car in the hopes that my dad would take me out and let me drive it. It is one of the most beautiful car shapes ever IMO.

I really regret not hanging on to that car. It was offered to me when I got my driver's license, and I turned it down in favor of buying a new Miata. My brother ended up with the car and cut all kinds of holes in it to install a big stereo, then traded it for an RX-7 Turbo. Man we were dumb at 16. Sad. (I wonder if when I'm 40 I won't believe how dumb I am now)

I'd love to hear your driving impressions. The car always felt very heavy and had quasi-boatlike steering (especially with that huge wheel) but was a great cruiser with decent power. Much more of a classic than the Jag IMO. The soft top is a bit of a pain, but manageable when you get used to it. Car was solid and quiet with the hardtop on. I always really liked the interior too, which predated all that fancy crap they put in cars these days.

Good luck. Sounds like a fun weekend.

Michael;

Marc has been a very close friend of the family for 25 plus years and has spent most of that time around Ferrari's. When it was time for my TR, Marc found one in North Carolina that was better than he said it was. Marc is a no pressure nice guy. Marc will never mis represent a car, but you need to be the judge of the car, as there are times I have seen a great car and he has said it is crap, and time when I have seen a car with a few blemishes on the interior and he was not bothered by them. I would fall in love with the car first before you ever look at prices. My TR was $4K higher than most of the others, but is absolutly everything that I was looking for and so worth the few extra $$ for piece of mind.

I too, have seen their ads, and agree that some of the prices seem too high. Let us know what you find.

Has anyone dealt with them before? We're going to check out a Mercedes 380SL and (God help me) a Jag XJS tomorrow. It looks like they charge top dollar for pretty nice cars.

Thanks for any info.
