Edward:
-Those are the optional 7 1/2 X 14" Campagnolo wheels, that were avaliable on this car at that time (Oddly, I have a 6 1/2 X 14" Campy, pentastar spare wheel)

-My car does not have a chin spoiler, it must be the lighting in my profile pic. My car is a jet no matter what...

-All Ferrari badges, no Dino in sight (Except the model badge on the trunklid "Dino 308 GT4")

Who's giving the cash, you or me?

Peter R. (According to Harlan, I'm an a--hole. That's okay, I've been called worse before...).

Peter,

Those rims you have on your 308GT4, they look re-cool. From a 308? what year?

You have the correct chin spoiler, your car looks like a true fighter jet.

Dino Tags?

I just wanted to say for the record the following people have agreed they are true a*s*o*e*:
manu
arthur
frederick
stephen
bobd
edward
peter
and the king (I was first after all) ME!

This list is finalized now don't the rest of you go trying to be a*s*o*e* too, its to late! I'm glad we could let our true color come out here on FerrariChat, I feel much better now that I'm not behind a keyboard trying to act nice, everyone knows. Now I can just be my a*s*o*e self. Whew its like a weight has been lifted off my back. Oh and for the record I want a picture of Chris and My wife, then I would be able to say I've met him (You don't think I ment THAT kind of picture do you?). I also wouldn't mind a picture of Me and Magoo's wife either, he seemed like a great guy I wouldn't mind meeting them either! So :P on you all.

I don't understand why this came up again. Everybody had apologized and moved on from there, this thread was inactive for several days because of that, then...

Although he agreed to not post on this again, I can't help but wonder why Stephen announces his friend Chris in point #2: "Chris Parr is an a**hole. Has been the entire time I've known him". Then goes on: "He is also one great guy..."

????

I didn't expect Magoo to kiss-and-make-up instantly over this, but this "problem" was settled. Done deal. End-of-story...

Just got in from the garage, new fuel line ....... used door handle.

We are at it again? (Passion & Ferrari's seem to mix.)

A wise man once said,

"From the same mouth (or keyboard) comes both praise and curses, this should not be. Can both saltwater and fresh flow from the same spring?"

With a Ferrari, I feel that if you own the art, you must wear the art.

My car is perfect now, tuned and functional..
Nobodies perfect.

Simple,
Read Magoo's 1st message here. It is a backhanded apology. Read Chris Parr's. He goes out of his way to appease Magoo.

I'm just trying to figure out why none of you supported Chris, when they were BOTH clearly wrong.

Art my friend,

Magoo is a hero.
Chris is a hero.

Steve, matey - I'm 100% sure you're well intentioned but I think ANY further comment is just going to cause ill-feeling.

I might be a rookie to this forum but I'm already desperately addicted to it- I can't believe how nice everyone is and how willing they are to share their experiences. FAB!

Lets move on and keep it this way. This is my FINAL post on the matter. I hope I haven't trod anyone's toes while saying this.

Good Luck and see you in another thread.

My point is this,
If Magoo is going to appologize, great. But don't tell me how he is the victim. I wish they would bury this, but halfhanded apologies are not the answer.
If anything, you members who have been on the site for a while should support someone like Chris who is new. All this chr*p from Magoo about how Chris Parr is a monster for his comments while he was blameless is nonsense.

STEPHEN:

I AM AMAZED THAT YOU WOULD CONTINUE TO STIR THINGS UP AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME. I'M SURE THAT CHRIS IS A GOOD GUY, AND IF HIS PRIOR STATEMENTS ARE TRUE, I'M ALSO SURE THAT HE PROBABLY WISHES THAT HE HADN'T MADE THOSE STATEMENTS, AND THAT YOU HADN'T STIRRED THINGS UP. THIS CHAT HAS USUALLY BEEN A FRIENDLY PLACE, WITH ALMOST NO PERSONAL INSULTS.

I DON'T KNOW YOU ARE, OR WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT, BUT I AM SURE THAT MOST OF US ON THIS CHAT WOULD PREFER TO KEEP IT AMICABLE, AND WITHOUT THE SORT OF COMMENTS THAT YOU ARE MAKING. PERHAPS YOU CAN START YOUR OWN CHAT: I SUGGEST ANGERY FERRARI OWNERS DOT ORG. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, PERHAPS YOU HAVE OTHER NAMES FOR YOUR ANGER, BUT PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT TO TURN THIS CHAT INTO ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IT ONCE WAS.

Steve, just wondering, why are you bringing this up again? I don't really see the point in bringing it up as it could only cause more problems. I understand everyone has a right to their opinion but why instigate anything. I think it would be a good idea to put it in the past.

Two Points...
1. Magoo began all this with his comment about seeing a photo of Chris in his F1 gear. This took the arguement about Keith Collins floor mats to a personal level.
2. Chris Parr is an a**hole. Has been the entire time I've known him. He is also one great guy, who has used his Ferraris and our club to raise money for many local charities, not to mention helped out more than a few members who were on "hard times".

Magoo's seems to be looking for sympathy ("I appreciate all of your support and understanding emails") with his apology. He is also implying that Chris Parr's comments were somehow more damaging than his own. Well Magoo, I'm here to tell you that Chris is very upset by what happened, and by what you said about him. FerrariChat is lucky to have someone with Chris Parr's knowledge to draw upon (that is the point, right? The useful exchange of information).
My first impression of Magoo is that I am NOT impressed. I have no doubt that if Magoo had not attacked Chris with his personal comment, none of this would have happened.
Oh, and for everyone else, here is a photo of Chris and Dana Parr. If you are in the midwest look them up. They are great people, and my friends. Chris Parr.

Well now that we all know how things can get out of hand, I think we have learned to think before we type. This is a Ferrari discussion on items that involve our cars and our love of the ownership of them. We are a unique group and I hope that we stay together as people who want to help each other and share our common passion.......

guys:

I've been on this chat for about 8 months now. This is the first time that things got ugly. Hopefully the last. Chris made comments that weren't appropriate, but we've all gotten some distance between us.

One of the problems was people joining in the dispute. I'm probably guilty of that, although I was being sarcastic. I've seen some of the people on this chat behave badly, and some not so badly, and hopefully we will all get better at getting along.

Chris, I appreciate what you just said BUT, Does any guy make a comment about another guys wife and not think about it. You may tell him to kiss your a-- or go f--k off, but you think twice as a man about taking a cheap shot about his wife. Ok we can go on from here but your first impressions of a man to me are not good. I know these guys are tired of hearing this bullshit but I look at you as you first presented yourself.

Greg, you are right no excuses, what sounds like a joke when you are saying it out loud at 1:00AM, can be an inexcusable insult in print. I recieved emails from some who thought it was funny and others who will probably never forgive me. I am new to this and I now know how things said in jest, can be taken wrongly. I made a bad mistake. Magoo was right to be upset, and he has been gracious since then. I don't know how I would have responded if the situation had been reversed, so I must respect Magoo for his comments. Time will tell the character and integrity of the individuals involved. I respect the comments from all members of FC, including Magoo's, Thank you, I agree with Magoo, let's move on, Chris

The best thing to do is shake hands and walk away...sometimes hard to do, but in the end you feel good for doing so.

I've found that in the email setting, many comments are not taken for how they were intended. No excuses for his comments the other night.

Now...lets' get back to what this site was intended for, our passion...Ferrari.

Listen guys I am sorry for going off the other night as I did. Some of you were upset and rightly so but it wasn't your wife the comment was made against. I have gotten into other debates as all of us have in the past but this one struck a nerve. He apologized but first impressions of a man tells me more than when he trys to cover up his actions. I am cooling down now and I appreciate all of your support and understanding emails. Let's go on from here. BRGDS, Magoo
