Thank you again for the response. It turns out that the quote came from there! I will keep looking for the right set. Is your car an early model as well? Mine is a 1969 (Chassis # 00512) with knock-off wheels.

Pascal-Do not spend $2500 just for the manual and pouch. The bulk of my expenditure was for the tools and jack. I will get you the name of a guy in Florida who advertises in Hemmings. He has the correct pouch and manuals, and if I remember correctly, they are much less than $2500 (I seem to remember $400-$500)

I had no idea that the tools kits were this much. I imagine parts are quite high as well. I still love the looks though.

Solly:

Thank you for the answer. If you happened to have a digital camera, I would love a picture of what you have. I have found a set of manuals with pouch for about $2,300. Since the toolkit came with the car, it is more a matter to have back in good order.

I keep my car immaculate and baby it almost all the time (which has to change), but I couldn't care less what the concours guy says. I guess with the Dino it's different. I got my jack for free at the junk yard near my dad's shop, basic scissor jack, I had about 100 to chose from. Got my tools for free from my dad's toolboxes. He still thinks my uncle took them, I'm not gonna say anything, he's got doubles and triples of everything anyways.

Actually, Bret, the "Jack-Off" component is an optional extra for that tool kit.

You could buy a reasonably nice used motorcycle for that, that's jerked off. Talk about supply and demand.

I have an original tool kit and jack. The correct jack color is an awful yellowish green. I will list the tools for you as soon as I return from Florida later this month, where the Dino is stored. Let me know if you need anything else. If you find an original kit you will pay a fortune. Mine cost me $4500 for the tool kit and jack kit and manuals with pouch, as they are very rare, and that was after an extensive search.

I am currently restoring a 1969 Dino 246GT (Chassis 00512) and need some help with the tool and jack kit. Could somebody give me a detailed list of the various items that both kits are meant to have? In addition, the jack and tire block have been sprayed black which I do not believe is the original color. Could somebody help me with the color as well. Since my car is very original, having had only two owners, I will be more than happy to provide help to anybody looking to restore his/her car. Thank you on advance.
