One concern with wider tires is rock chips as they stick out a little furthur. |

Dave, I'm glad you had a good experience. From the two times I bought tires from the Rack on "special" (P6000&AVS Intermediates) they weren't the freshest set of tires. By the date imprinted on the sidewalls, they were over 3 years old! |

Anyone know where to get poly bushings for the shocks? |

David W, the $243 did not include the bushings. Bushings are not supplied with the Koni OEM shocks. |

David, I was lucky, they had one set of the shocks in stock in their Indiana warehouse. The tires were dilivered in one day but the shocks took two days. The shocks came in a Koni box with the correct part number on the box,but I haven't opened yet. |

On the old side? I don't think so.... That's what the Firestone dealer said to me when I told him I got new 16" BBS wheels with new S-03 rubber for the price he quoted for just the rubber in 15" for my wifes BMW. A guy working for him said he was just pissed that people could buy tires from tirerack cheaper than than his price from the factory... At any rate, my new Yoko AVS rubber has arrived, and they are by no means "old stock" |

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but in all likelyhood these Intermediates on sale are on the "old" side. And we all know what happens to old tires, even if they were never used. Please be careful when exploring the limits! |

Ditto--I bought a pair of the $60 Yokohamas for my recently-purchased '85 QV--what a great price! In addition, they were delivered in one day--great service too! |

Please note, I have no affiliation with tirerack. However, I have been using them for 10 yrs and they have been great. I have the AVS Iner. on my TVR and they are wonderful. I just ordered the S-O3's for my QV - should arrive today. I will let you know how they are - all reviews I read are stellar, went with the 225/50 front, 245/45 rear for 16" rims. I saw someone ordered shocks and quoted a price of $243. Did that include the bushings? |

the AVS Intermediates are being discontinued. Great tire! Much better than the AVS Sport on the street/wet/track if it comes to that. And definately a great buy for that price! The tires aren't the very best, like some S02's or PZeros, but heck, for the price, jump on them and trash them at will on some twisty roads in the hill country. |

Jim/Dave: I run those sizes on my 85 QV without any clearance problems. Should be fine. As for the tires, my wife runs them on her Pcar and they are a very nice summer tire. Excellent turn in and plenty of feedback as the tire approaches its limits. Not a great wet tire, but as good as most all season tires. |

Bill, did they have the shocks in stock? I was thinking about the Koni's as well but thought there was a 10 week wait on the shocks. |

I bit the bullet too, for my 308. Two, 225/50-16's and two 245/45-16's for $274.08 delivered. While I was at it, two Koni shocks for the front, 243.17 delivered. The items were shipped today and I expect delivery Monday. |

From what I have heard, with the stock wheel offsets 225's will fit up front and 245's will fit in back. His 328 works well with them, and I have seen a few 308's wearing them as well. If worried just get your stock size tires. I thought about ordering a second set at that price, but my wife gave me that "you allready have extra rims and tires taking up space in your play room now" kind of look. I had bought her BMW new BBS wheels and O-S3 tires from the tirerack for about what it would cost to just do the tires from the local Firestone dealer. This online stuff is great! At any rate, her stock BBS wheels await me refinishing them. |

Dave, does your friend have any clearance issues with the wider tires? I don't need rubber but at that price, I may jump. |

I ordered them on the spot, and the front tires came yesterday. I have 205/55/16 on front and 225/50/16 on the rear now, and the ones I ordered were 225/50/16 for the fronts and 245/45/16 for the rears. I have a buddy with a 328 tired that way and it seems to handle better on the track with the wider meat. For that price I could chew them up at the track and not worry about it... I also ordered a brake line kit for the 308 as well. Total: $402.91 with shipping... Not bad for new rubber all the way around, and braded brake lines to boot. |

Just thought I'd pass along, I was going to order a new set of rear tires for my 308 from tirerack.com, (no affiliation) to replace my P-Zeros that are lacking tread when I did a sort by price I found that they had Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires close out priced at around $60.00 each for my size... Was such a good price I thought I'd pass it along.
