I'm surprised at the thought that $18.5k would get the deal done. I myself would be very worried about a 308 selling that cheap, but if the compression is good and it's not stolen, like you guys said the downside risk is nil.

I will think on it. It is a nice car but I am not sure as I might want to look around some more. I just thought if I got it for a good price it might be worth the effort plus if I don't like it I should be able to sell it for what I have in it. The seller seems quite anxious to sell. Thanks.

at $ 18,500 you are okay.
I think I know the car. Well, that is I have heard of the car. There are not too many burgundy around. Not my pref. color but at that price nothing done wrong.

I would think under 20K would be a no brainer. Getting close to salvage value there.

I agree. They are asking $21K. I was thinking about making an offer. I am not sure though. If I could get it for $18,500 I would probably be doing alright. Yes?

1980's had the problem with the oil rings and excessive oil consumption. Many or most either had the rings replaced or the whole motor replaced at factory expense. I would want to know if that work was done or not. Locally, a real nice gray/black example with 20K+ miles and maybe 12K on the motor went begging for mid 20's. It also had 16" wheels which you have to figure as a 2K bonus. I think low 20's would be all the money. GTB production is quite low, but in the US QV GTB's are much more rare. I have owned 3 308's and follow the values which hardly makes me expert, but I think low 20's would be accurate. Could certainly be a good value as a driver with all the service up to date.

I cruise a lot of classified ads for old 308's. I've never bid/bought one so take that for what it's worth. I'd try to pay around $23k; I would go a bit higher if the interior wasn't too bad. I wouldn't pay more than $26k but that's not to say someone else wouldn't, it's just that's getting into not so nice QV range. Just my $.02

I am not an expert in the pricing but I have been looking quite a bit for another 308 to add to my 82 gtbi. I have seen gtbi's going for as low as 18k to as high as 35k. That is for the model years from 80-82.....my 82 308 gtbi is a euro model with 63k and is in excellent shape...no show car, but a nice piece. According to all the research I have done with some help from Verel of F.C, it is suppose to be the last serial numbered gtbi produced. I do not know what I would ask for mine. They did not produce as many gtbi's as they did gtsi's so They are a little more on the rare side. I do not think you could set a value, I guess it is what you think it is worth to you.

What would be the realistic value of a 2V Injected 1980 GTBi 308? It is a repaint in Burgandy with tan interior. The repaint is good but the interior would need a redye in the future. Car drives well, just had a 30K, A/C cold. 14 inch wheels with new tires but the Ferrari logo on the airbox has worn off, the plenum, valve covers are painted black, and the car has an aftermarket steering wheel. It has 36,000 miles. What would the realistic value be? Thanks.
