How do they fit all that extra stuff in and electronics? When I was talking about trans I should have been more specific come to think of it. I was thinking more along the lines of the whole shabang, bellhousing, etc. I guess they could have the shift rod moved electronically/ hydraulically and the trans itself be the same. Damn, I never really thought about this stuff, now I'm interested and feel morally obligated to look it up. Doing my homework for tomorrow is a waste of time anyways. |

At least on the 360, the transmission is interchangeable between the F1 and manual. I think it is the same way on the 355, but I am not sure... Ernesto |

They are both six speed manual transmissions. The F1 uses steering wheel mounted paddle shifters that disengage/engage the clutch and change the gears in a fraction of a second. |

Yes, I believe the trans is different between the two of them. |

The whole trans is different as far as I know. It's a whole different molding to incorporate the hydraulics, but it's the same gears and ratios and all. |

Style wise they look the same from the outside, inside only difference is the shifter vs paddles. Check out www.ferrarina.com to check the stuff out. |

Definitely. The whole transmission is a completely different technology. Paddle shift on the column with no clutch pedal. Similar to the Formula 1 cars. |

One of my friend's has mentioned that there is something called an F1 (style) package for the 355. Are there any style differences between them other than the shifter? |
