Understated: FIAT Overstated: NO FIAT Over-Overstated: NO FIERO Although I still like the DMV random numbers/letters (quick-pick?) best, as the car seems to speak for itself fairly well. |

Dave, I sort of know what you mean about it being redundant. However, the way I tend to look at it is that it really sucks that you have to put a license plate (especially a front one!) on this beautiful artwork of a car. In my strange way of thinking, if the license plate reflects the theme of the car or references the car, then it seems a little more palatable. Just my 2c. |

Tim, I have some creative guys over at my board: http://www.exoticcarforums.com. I just posted a topic about it. I am sure they can think of some good plates. Its in the Misc. Automotive Section with a title like License Plate for an F40.

I've never quite understood the logic on those plates that state the obvious. You're driving an F40, for example, it screams out "F40 FERRARI!!!!" Having a plate that says "F40" or "FERRARI" is amazingly redundant. Like having a Camaro with the plate CAMARO. If someone has to be told (again) it's a F40 or a Camaro, they probably really don't care... I like FSTRNL, as well as all the subtle references to speed, racing, insanity, etc. Mine's "GOT FEAR" by the way. Dave |

On New Years Eve I saw the best combo of car and licence plate EVER outside some a well-known haunt for the rich and famous in central London: The Car: Ferrari 550 Maranello The Plate: 550 |

yeah, a lot of states are getting tougher on this. after 9/11 many requests were received for plates referencing 9/11 but were mostly turned down |

I used to have three cars with FAST on my Maserati BiTurdo, FASTER on my Merak, and FSTRNL on my 308. Indiana wouldn't let me renew FSTRNL when the plate expired!!!! |

I like that FSTRNL, I'm seriously considering a personalized plate, I just don't like my letters. The jeep has decent letters for the plate, but the Ferrari is boring IMO. I think that a personalized plate might attract negative attention from the guys in blue though. I don't know if I could resist that FSTRNL though, even modified though the 308 wont be so I guess it wont work. I was thinking Rosso might work. |

Seeing as "FERRARI" went for over $10k on EBay (CA plate), I'd grab F40 myself as you may some day get to sell it to another F40 owner. Hmmm...then again maybe you're thenonly F40 in your state! Anyway; F40 is my vote. or "Efforty" |

Some cool suggestions. Another thought might be to take whatever the DMV is handing out as the car pretty much speaks for itself (particularly with Tubis/wastegates just inches away). |

My fathers old work boss had a Porsche 964 Turbo Lightweight.... it was yellow...a lairy, aggressive, arrogant bastard of a car that would get vandalised by jealous plebs everywhere he left it - probably because he had also fitted the numberplate: TRY 1T. |

any ideas on a license plate for the new F40? 4RRARI - avail. F40 - avail. ETCKT, ERIDE, ENZO, FORZA, FERRARI - not avail. had 4RRARI on my TR, kinda nice because it prevented people from getting inches from my tail at a light to see what kind of car it was. obviously the none car knowledgable people. it always made me nervous when they got that close and the license plate seemed to cure the problem. any ideas are much appreciated. |
