Robert Stoneguard is a great product...and it looks very good on a red car (red 360 Modena).....Key to success is the quality of the installer....it's really important to find someone who has applied stoneguard on a 360 before.....The Modena's front nose is a very complex shape, and there's a lot of technique involved |

Doody, it doesn't yellow and it doesn't peel in my experience...6 cars of various colors and counting. Miles better than a carbra... |

>> Viken did you install the hons yourself? How big a job was it? Nick << No, I did not but it is fairly easy once you get the bumper off. You can install the new horns in the same location as the stock horns. |

Nicholas, Call Miller Motor cars and ask them if they have a car with Stoneguard. I saw one up there awhile ago and they do have an outside vendor I believe that will apply the product. |

>> Pardon my ignorance, what is this thing about airhorns?Do the Modenas in Europe already have them? << Air horns are not being installed on any Ferrari primarily due to stringent noise regulations in the EU. I had mine installed after purchase. http://bedrossian.net/Ferrari/Fuchs&Horn.htm |

Tino, I have to agree on the quality of Ferrari paint. When I bought my Titanium Ferrari, it had plastic protective strips behind the wheels that had yellowed... very ugly. When I went to remove them to put on Stongard (which does not yellow or harden), removing the strips removed the paint! Further examination showed some spider cracks around the holes for the license plate. I ended up repainting the whole bumper as the paint was clearly not very well adhesed to the bumper. Then, when washing/waxing the car after a weekend of autocrossing (and bumping cones), I noticed some cracking of the paint on the front bumper in front of the front wheels. My M3, which has bumped far more cones, has never shown any such damage. Thus, Doody may have a point... there may be no point in trying to protect paint that isn't very well adhesed to the bumper. But, typically... Stongard does not yellow or peel... it is barely visible from some directions, visible but not too noticeable from others, and noticable from others but far more attractive than pits, gashes, and nicks from road debris. When I show people, many say, "Oh, I see that now, but I never noticed it before." Others say, "Oh, I saw the line but didn't really think anything of it... just looked like any other seam on the car." IOW, the clean straight lines that are visible do not look ugly or wrong... in contrast to my Porsche's nose which was all chewed up within its first six months... definitely not attractive up close. Yes, you can repaint the nose, but it won't be long before it has new nicks and gashes and once again looks worse than having Stongard on there. Perhaps that makes more sense? (BTW, I fully agree with your argument when it comes to black bras on the noses of cars... which are far uglier than a few nicks and gashes.) |

BTW, IMO, 360 paint quality (at least my titanium as well as silvers and TDF that I've examined), are the worst paint finishes I have ever seen on Ferraris that I've owned. A friend who had his 360 bumper resprayed by Premier in LA, ended up with a finish that is far better and stronger than the factory's. |

Jason, it's great to know it works because it may save all of us a lot of headaches. I was basing my stratement on my own experience in the late eighties and nineties when we used Stoneguard on nose cone and side pods of my formula racers. It used to always ruin the paint when we peeled it off to renew it. Perhaps they've gotten better since. BTW, the Fiamm horns that Ferrari has used for years are vailable from many catalog suppliers and start at under $30 for a two horn model. |

re: stongard.... why cover the bumper at all, really? bumpers get repainted all the time - it's de rigeur. i can understand the hood, but it seems excessive to apply a visible, yellowing (apparently), peeling (maybe?) cover to something that's trivial to repaint for a few hundred bucks every 24 months or so. please clue me in - i'm clearly missing something. doody. |

btw, its Stongard. you can find a local installer of the product here: http://www.stongard.com or give David at call at http://www.stongardgeorgia.com, tell him I referred you and if you get a few F-cars that needs stongard installed, he can fly out and do the installation. |

Tino Welcome to someone that HAS taken off stoneguard after 14 months....Your fears are unfounded, paint underneath the front bumper of my 360 was perfect (stoneguard removed due to a jack being accidentally scraped across it) Stoneguard is a great product..... Also, Air horns from RM Racing (OEM Ferrari parts) are great....Very sexy & Italian |

What about waxing? Any problems? Do you just avoid those areas? |

Stoneguard also yellows after a while, making it stick out like a sore thumb. On some colors it sticks out too. Those colors are mostly solid colors. It doesnt show much at all on metallic colors untill it yellows. |

Welcome to the fray, Nicholas; my 2000 car is identical to yours in color and txmission. My front bumper is being resprayed this week; I did not go for Stoneguard because I am convinced that peeling it off after it's been on (and exposed) for a few months, WILL damage the poor quality paint and you end up having to respray the nose anyway. I have yet to find anyone who has taken Stoneguard OFF after af few months of use. |

Yes, definitely get Stonegard. My car is black so I couldn't apply the entire kit (edges are quite visible even on a clean, dark car). I'm getting the front bumper covered tomorrow. Also, you should try to get the headlights covered too. Rocks and other debris will bounce off the thick, flexible Stonegard Light and save your lenses from cracking (saved mine many times). Try WWW.RMFerrari.com for an air horn kit. |

Would strongly recommend stoneguard protection. Have 1200 miles on my new silver 360 spider and its practically invisible on silver/Titanium colors. Perfect protection so far and the final proof will be after 3 days at Sebring. Have not heard of any negative experience. Has anyone else? I am also considering air horns as the stock horn sounds like a FORD.
