After driving the cars again, i've decided i'll have to get a 456M GT if i go the 4 seat route or i'm going to get a maranello...i'm pretty sure i'll get the 550 soon. i drove it again yesterday and it was awesome.

I can only comment on the 456M, and in comparison with the 360. The 456 in both the normal and 'sport' settings is much softer than the 360. Having said that I have never found it to be 'bouncy'. There is a perceptible roll on entry into corners, but it locks fairly quickly and is thereafter flat through the corner and not bouncy over bumps. This contrasts with the 360 which does not roll, but seems to swivel around a point directly under my seat. The downside of the softer suspension on the 456 is going airborne over bumps in the road, which can result in the car bottoming out on landing. It hasn't done this when in 'sport'.

I'm fairly certain that the suspension and damping are better on the M than it's predecessor. The rear shocks on all 456s have a history of leaking, so maybe they were shot on the car you drove.

One of my friends has a 456 M and he said that he been told by a dealer that the M had pretty different suspension than the earlier 456 and handled a lot better.

I don't think many parts are interchangeable between 550 and 456 - a 550 would have been released around a year after a 95 456GT

has anyone modified their 456s suspension? I am considering purchasing a '95 and found the suspension a little soft c/w the maranello at least and soft compared to my 996tt. Of course it is a GT car and if it is supposed to be that way then great...but it was a little bouncy around a corner with some bumps in the road.
