These cars must be really selling well. I saw at least 10 of them at the vintage races at Elkhart Lake this past weekend. The dealers locally have only been selling them for the past three months.

The Dallas Morning News ran an article the other day that Mini's in the Dallas area (the closest dealer is 6 hours south in SAn Antonio) are going for as much as $30k ($10k over list). Unbelievable, even for a such a cool car.

Grassroots Motorsports did a test of the new Mini against an old "worked" Mini. The original blew it away, but it was set up and it is a much lighter car. The new Mini is very cool.

The original was a blast as well. Unbelievable how much room todays cars have in the interior and yet have a small exterior.

I love the car. Its flexible with ample power above 2k rpm, I tend to shift around 4k rpm and above. The car has excellent turn in and grip. Ive got the optional 17in wheels with dealer added Pirelli Pzero's! The ride can be a bit choppy but overall smooth and predictable. In my opinion its pure sportscar in a small package!
Ive not gotten a Ferrari yet but the car is a crowdstopper. Numerous people have approached me at stoplights, gas stations and parking lots asking about the car. Its got a face to it when viewing the car from standing in front. It makes people smile :-)
My Lotus on the other hand is low, wide with the standard exotic look that tends to keep people looking but not in an excited, happy manner that the Mini generates. Keep the machine Nika...dont give it back :-)

Dave - I have the twin - but with stock white rims. I am pleasantly surprised at it's performance NIT being an S even. The engine is so quiet compared to the 308.

Any suggestions Dave? What rpm do you shift at? How to you like it - any complaints? I could use a quote :-)

wow - so the benefits of being a "so-called" automotive journalist is taking cars for test drives.

I LOVE this Mini Cooper - how much fun can one racerchick have!!!!! It is a blast - I won't sell the 308 but I must make room for this new toy! I dread giving it back.........
