I bought a farm two years ago. I store my Ferraris, backhoe, and tractor, etc. in the machine shed, which is 40 x 106 feet. Now I want a bulldozer.

Building a 10 car barn in back of the house next spring. Until then I ship 2 cars to Fla. for the winter where they live in a storage facility.

Right now I am very lmited for foom at my house. I live in NYC and room is very limited. I keep the Lotus, NSX, and MercedesSL at my house here. I leave the testarossa and the 355 as well as the corvette at my cousins house in stamford, CT. A but what can I do? In the next year I am looking to moving out to Long Island where I can build a six car garage with a house on the side,LOL

It's beginning to sound like everybody is "car poor" as we bottom feeders call it. You feel obligated to latch onto a good deal on any good collectable car, but then there is the nasty problem of where to store it, insure it, license it, maintain it, etc. If it wasn't for all the cars and their associated hassles, we would all be living like kings with all the money we've spent on our "hobby". (Millionaires excluded, because they can afford enough garage space to store everything.) As for me, my stuff is scattered across 75 miles, 2 storage spaces, 1 back yard, and rural farm land. But there's ALWAYS room for one more.

A guy nearby did it right. When building his house, he dug an underground garage with room for 20 cars. He also included a circular section that revolves to reposition the cars, ala Batman.

bRUCE:

Ex-wives have a place in this world. Just not around ex-husbands. Instead of storing her in a garage, how about raffling her off, and you pay for the raffle tickets?

I have a rather large car orginally designed for four large cars. It is not rectangular, so on one end, I have three cars in one stall, two on top of each other (using a lift) and one behind the other two...and then I have one car each on the other stalls. I think it is imperative that cars should be garaged, and during the humid summers, airconditioned to remove humidity. Equally important, heat in the winter. As I get older, I feel too many cars are quite a burden.. but you get attached to them. If I couldn't sell a daytona for 475,000 back in 1989, why would I sell it for 120,000 now?

I won't jepardize the man's security by identifying him, but there is a fellow in Atlanta who has a 2-car car-port with a Rolls, a 365 Boxer, and an Italia crammed in. He has a shelter with an old truck in it. The Saab stays in the driveway. In the basement, he has a '57 T-bird, a 250GT, a Vette (I think '67), and a 275GTB. He is restoring a 250GT California and may have to put it in the dining room. His entire home is a Ferrari shrine to marvel at. His son also has a few cars which have been in and out of his dad's home. I can't imagine where they are kept. The guy I bought my car from has a basement drive under garage. He has that thing loaded up with so many cars they keep laundry on them.

my father has this problem as well. so he is getting those lifts for all three of his current spots, so will expand the capacity to 6. he says they work well and all clearances are good. makes it easy to work on some things as well i imagine.

I have a cover for my daily driver--a 1997 M3--that resides in my driveway. Only have a 3 car garage, currently. Sucks!

For those of you with multiple cars and limited space, where do you park or store your cars?
