Thanks Bob - I contacted Symbolic re installation. They outsource all their glass work to a local company, who when called, would not guarantee their work. Gary Roberts suggested trying Jim at Clear Perfection in Orange County. Has anyone had any work done by him or have other suggestions? Every glass company I talk to gives me a queasy feeling when I mention guarantees and cutting/mitering the moulding. Surely someone has been through this procedure before. Any suggestions? |

Symbolic has a branch in Beverly Hills, and they are based in San Diego...if they can't get it done no one can. |

Hi guys, Over the Christmas holidays I bought a '88 328GTB (my first Ferrari) but, alas, it needs a new windshield. The local dealer has installed two aftermarket windshields, the first had a severe warp at eyelevel, the replacement (Swisslamex) does not fit - hence the molding would not go on. Safelite glass thoroughly mangled the molding trying to get it to fit. I managed to get a new molding ($$$) and have ordered a OEM windshield ($$$$) from F. Orange County (who guarantee the windshield will fit and offered use of their facility during the installation). My problem - does anyone know a qualified installer in the So. Cal area to install the new windshield and molding? I can't find anyone who will guarantee their work. The molding needs to be cut and precisely mitered, and after the Safelite fiasco I'm extremely paranoid. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
