This is too confusing. I like the old format better.

Joe G, that's what the Technical Q&A is for, purely technical information that you're looking for. General Ferrari Discussion will be more "chatter". Then other areas are Wanted Ads, For Sale Ads, Racing, and Showroom among others. Hopefully there's something for everyone here. Some people will want to use the "New Messages" functionality to make sure they see every message and others like yourself may only be interested in the "Technical Q&A."

Enjoy!

Were's the Beef? Great site but to much chatter! Expensive car was easier to find what was pertinent to your car! I appeciate the effort but let's not loose site of what we're after, good technical information on our cars.

The "Images & Tips" link on the left reminds everyone how to post pictures on any of the message boards.

Thanks Rob328, a link on posting pics would be great. I tried posting on another subject (other than "for sale")and was unsuccessful. must have been operator error. I'll try again.

I like Rovers, but she was set on a pick up. Which is totally impratical for Dallas. All she does is drive it to work and back. I say get at least a SUV so that we can put stuff in the back and keep it dry. She has had 2 previous SUVs and really wants a truck, so that's what she's getting.

Everyone should thank Monty for sharing the archives with us.

I can't wait until the day I have a carburated 12 cylinder in my garage next to the 328. By then my BMW will have 220k miles on it and I may be single. Although I'm good with the wife for a little longer because we're buying her a new 4x4 this week.

I know you're not making money off it and stuff, but I figured the whole 348gts thing would just add to the effect. I must say that I for one appreciate this site.

I was driving the Viper GTS (blue w/white stripes) when the thought came to me, there are no Ferraris in Gran Turismo, so I'll attribute the convoluted thoughts to a certain Detroit Car Company. Had I been racing a Ferrari I would have been much more clear. You gotta admit though, it was kind of funny.

I think we're all glad to hear that Expensive Car is gonna make a return to greatness sometime soon. Sweet

Well, I was able to get ahold of Monty at ExpensiveCar.com. I think we should be very appreciative of the work Monty put in getting the site up and then maintaining it. ExpensiveCar.com was one of my favorite message boards and one of the only ones that had anything at all to do with Ferrari. Monty has sent me all the archive files from the last back up and I'll quit my job as a software engineer if I don't find a way to get those archives back up and available to everyone. Just give me some time. FerrariChat.com started out as just a personal site for me to collect information on Ferrari as my life of this passion carries on. I thought the message board would be an added element to share this passion with other people. You don't find too many true Ferrari people in your everyday life.

Lastly, I don't plan on making a cent on this site. I'm comfortable with the current costs and time requirement. If the volume increases significantly, then I may consider a minor sponsorship to make sure the performance of the site remains adequate.

This is "Our" site, not "Mine."

While playing Gran Turismo for Playstation I figured out where expensive car went. Think about it, you're Rob Lay just starting a new Ferrari site (FerrariChat), what would be the best way to bring in more people? You got it, knock off the competition. Hey that's how Microsoft became so powerful, I guess FerrariChat is following in their footsteps. At this rate pretty soon you'll be Rob348gts. Right...

Seriously, we're lucky that there is Ferrari Chat, especially since Expensive Car is hurting. Hopefully everything will workout alright.

Pictures can be posted anywhere on this message board. Instructions for posting pictures are under the "Formatting" link to the left. Because images are such a neat feature of a message board, I'll make a special link just for how to do this.

Thanks.

I just noticed the link from expensivecar. I've sent Monty an e-mail to see if I can help recover the files. I'm not sure what happened. If he is using a 3rd party host, then they could of messed up. My host makes backups, but after seeing what happened I'm going to make my own backups as well.

I'm adding a new Topic called "Technical Q&A".

Let me know if we should call it something different.

Well, it looks like this site will be more than just chatting about our cars. Hey Rob, maybe you should have a section just for repair postings here (seeing as ExpensiveCar has no more forum).

ALL THAT INFO....GONE! Please tell me it's not gone for good. What happened?

It looks like all the info was not carried over to the new board yet. Hopefully they are making improvements so it will load quicker. I almost always had to stop the load and just view the most current subjects or it would take forever...
