The part # on the 12" Hayden fan is 3680. I got both of mine at Pep Boys. Very easy to install. |

Sam I would get the rad. checked if you are running above 195. I live in Hyde Park (60 miles up the Hudson) and have a 77 308GTB. My temp. runes at 170 without air during mild city traffic. With air and bumber to bumber it goes to 195 and when the fans (stock) turn on it takes the temp. down enough to shut the fans off. I'll convert to Hayden fans when my stock fans crap out. Good luck. |

Sam, I did mine pretty much like Brett's. His was a very nice job. I also decided to pull the radiator to have it checked out since I knew no history on it. I took it to a highly recommended shop here in So. Cal. Boy am I glad I did. It was ruined from someone closing off several of the passages due to leaking. As it turns out it was not a very good operating radiator. Long and short of it is I have a new core being installed with a couple other things. As long as your putting in the Hayden fans (service the radiator if it's been a while or you don't know the history). |

Thanks, Robert, I gues you did this withthe rad/condensor in place.... and worked from below, that is smart and a time saver for me...any pics , measurements of other step-by step would be very helpful...I have my two fans ready to go but I was trying to avoid taking the whole dame thing apart and laying up the car for a while (although I should probably remove the rad and have it boiled out anyway..) |

I wired my 2 hayden 12" on the factory wiring they work fantastic. I made a lower bracket out of aluminum stock and ran a piece all the way across the bottom attaching it to the factory mounting points on the radiator (horizontal). I also ran another piece across the top mounting it to the rubber dampners (vertical). I attached the 2 fans using the mounting brackets that came with the fans at the top and 2 bolts on each fan on the lower (using no brackets, only using the mounting points). I did this installation with the valance off. I replaced the factory valance with the much larger euro style...The fit is absolutely perfect and looks far better than stock. |

I would leave in the original fuse and carry a 25 amp spare just in case it fails. |

I got done reading some old posts on switching the fans of a 308 over to the slim line 12" Hayden fans last night. Went to Pep Boys and they only had one so I bought the one and ordered the other. The fan I put in was the left side. It went in great. I tested it on the battery and boy what a difference compared to what I pulled out. The question I have is this: The installation instructions for the Hayden fan recommended using a 25 amp fuse. The ferrari manual recommends 16 amp fuse for the fans and that is what has been in the car. To those of you who have switched over to the Hayden fans, did you go to a different fuse size or leave it at 16 amps? If you changed it or left it at 16 amps have you had any problems? Hoping to test it out in the Hot!!!! California sun tomorrow. Thanks, Brent |
